About this listen
When Julia Seagrove is found dead, a name carved into her body, old memories are stirred up for DI Hal Luchewski. The name is that of a murdered sex offender and the man who killed him, convicted in Hal's first ever murder case, has just been released from prison. As he digs deeper, Hal discovers multiple links between Dr Seagrove, the recently released killer Nino Gaudiano, and Nino's long-missing daughter Louisa. Hal must tread a fine line as he digs into the secrets of several people involved in both cases and time is running out. Meanwhile, Hal's convoluted personal life is strained, as his relationship with boyfriend Stevie is on the rocks and he has to deal with revelations about his world-famous father....

Ticked all my crime novel boxes & some
If you could sum up The Mismade Girl in three words, what would they be?
I want More!
Who was your favorite character and why?
All the main, and even a few of the hardly mentioned peripheral characters, from the the first book in the series. They all have a background and are what they are. I really do care about pretty much all of them, which is unusual for me, as I am mostly far more scathing than emphatic where a writers characters are concerned, as they are often too stereotypical, or simply just annoying.
What about Paul Thornley’s performance did you like?
He is the best. Could listen to him reading a bus timetable.
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
No idea
Any additional comments?
Message for Mark Lock: Now what do I get? Will probably download the new Lisa Gardener, but would prefer a Brit author read by Thornley. Will get more business work done, but no longer the ironing or the dishwasher as wont be so caught up that I do all sorts of inane stuff, to have the excuse as to why I have my earphones in..husband & children may be a bit happier but I wont......Much more Hal, et al please and soon, to satisfy this persons voracious appetite for good Brit crime novels, that aren't basically Mills & Boon (at worst '50 Shades' etc - rubbish) with the odd murder thrown in to expand the "audience". Please also keep Thornley, as he is fab.

Great narration!
Listened to the audiobook. Great narration from Paul Thornley. Mark Lock has created a unique and complex character in Hal Luchewski. I loved the plot, characters and the cultural, and musical, references throughout. Despite the nature of it, the scene with Brian Lawson and the teenagers in the park is one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard. Looking forward to reading more in the series.

Better than the first
Really enjoyed this. The story moves along at a fair pace and is told between two different time frames. More murders, more character developement and some more of the back story about Hal.
Again there is some swearing and violence but that's the norm for this genre and the narration was excellent.
Well worth the credit and I wait with baited breath for the next in the series to be on Audible.
