About this listen
The day after Hugo gains access to magic, his train explodes.
Unknown magic flings him back in time, and he narrowly avoids death this time. While he is trying to unravel the mystery of this unexpected second chance, life goes on. His new gifts lead him to the magic academy. At the school, he will face off against noble students who don’t want him to be there, teachers who expect him to already know everything, and literal monsters that want to kill him.
To survive and thrive, he will need weapons, friends, and a healthy danger sense. But first, he has to pick which magic domain suits him best.

Interesting
This has one of the most interesting magic systems and worlds I've encountered in quite a while. Hugo is a driven individual who's fairly quick witted although sometimes he is a little bit thick. The magic crafting is probably my favourite thing about this book.

This was an amazing book. The world building is awesome, and the characters are interesting. thw interactions between them are a lot of fun to read, and the story is very interesting. Also, I would really love to go to this academy. lot better than my university :)

Quality storytelling
Excellent story with exception world building. If you have an itch after for something in the same ball park as Mother of Learning, then give this a shot.

An interesting take on time traveling bubble
Magic system is great, teachers are versatile, but the MC is stubborn and stupid sometimes. The stats feel meaningless though.
It’s a good first book. I recommend it!

A real good romp
A few imaginative and entertaining twists and turns in this first book, a few tried and tested.
Characters are well drawn and likeable.
Narration is just ok. Room for improvement, quiet a lot of mispronunciation
Overall an enjoyable long tale.

Awesome changing story
I have received this free copy for an honest review. A time loop that is running out of control and more amok each time. Our mc that is having to learn and change faster and faster each time. A changing story of repeat and second chances. This is a great story, one that I definitely recommend. The narration is great, easy to understand and very clear.

interesting but
I endet up skipping everything that's not magic or fighting. The MC is not the sharpest Knife in the drawer and the socal aspect of the story is not really exciting.
-edit- Downgrade MC from Knife to Spoon...
-edit- Downgrade MC from Spoon to brick... damn he is dense
-edit- Ok the Plot twist are really good but MC still needs more points in int...
-edit- Downgrade MC from Brick to half Brick in a Sock...
-edit- Downgrade MC from half Brick in a Sock to a Sock. Definitely not the sharpest sock in the drawer.
