About this listen
In the meantime, Adrian continues to be scandalised by his irresponsible parents who are conducting a matrimonial square-dance with the Braithwaites - the parents of the beautiful but unobtainable Pandora, who is ruthlessly pursuing her ambition to be New Labour's first woman PM - and to confide in his diary.
His current worries include: indestructible head-lice; his raging jealousy when his accomplished half-brother Brett arrives on his doorstep; moral decline in The Archers; his desperate attachment to two therapists; his mild addiction to Starburst (formerly Opal Fruits); a small earthquake in Leicester; and, perhaps most significantly, the dawn of a new millennium.

Poor mole
Funny but a bit sad really. Surely the guy deserves a break. Hopefully in the next book. This isn't a spoiler as it's stated in the intro.

Funny, warm, and historically fascinating.
A hilarious and touching slice of history. Adrian Mole is unwittingly wise as he chronicles what now seems a gentler and more innocent age.

Adrian Mole
Not as good as the the other Mole diaries, and shorter in length compared to the other books around this time, but well worth a listen. The plot is ok, but nowhere near as in depth as the other books, which is where I think I was very slightly disappointed.
I have always held these books amongst my favourite ones to listen to again and again, but this one I did enjoy, but not enough to listen again, as a Mole fan that is the only reason it dropped a star.

Lovingly Crafted!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
A definite recommendation.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lost Diaries of Adrian Mole, 1999-2001 ?
When he attended the school nativity play (plays!)
What about Daniel Coonan’s performance did you like?
It fitted the part perfectly.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes but for me the joy of the book is to make it last. In this way it becomes part of the family for a while.

A little off form for Sue Townsend
There are much better Mole books , such as Weapons of MD and the prostrate years .
But it’s an easy book to listen to last thing at night prior to falling asleep .
