About this listen
Ben
I just graduated. I should be out celebrating. Instead, a storm's coming, and I've got no place sleep except the backseat of my car. At least I have my beloved beagle with me, but seriously, how is this my life?
Isaac
After a horrific week, I hate being unable to retreat to my island sanctuary. Perhaps sharing my hotel room with a stranger in distress and his dog will take my mind off things. Afterward, we'll separate and never meet again. Right?
A 10,000-word lighthearted gay romance with forced proximity, a loner, a future school teacher, and Buddy, the adorable beagle. This short story was originally published in the anthology Ukraine: Seeds of Love.

Sweet Love
The Lightkeeper’s Love Affair is a short but sweet story about two men who are brought together by a storm and a hotel room. Ben is a newly graduated college student who’s about to start the next phase in his life. He finds himself in a difficult situation when vacation plans fall apart. But what starts off as bad luck turns into something so wonderful. I really enjoyed watching Isaac and Ben fall in love.
The audiobook was narrated by Michael Dean who did a fantastic job. Michael is a talented narrator who voices each character perfectly. The audiobook production was well done.

A man, his dog and a chance encounter
Ok, so one hour is a preposterous format for a love story. And listening to this short but sweet book, I did feel the rush sometimes. But I was impressed by some of the inventive choices Gabbi Grey made in order to make it work. She snuck in back story details without belabouring them, and she cut down ruthlessly on unnecessary narration of how the characters physically get from A to B, which I love. So if you've only got an hour, or you want the satisfying feeling of a happy ending without waiting hours for the MC's to figure things out, this is the book for you.

Great short story!
I love Gabbi Grey’s books. This one is really short and includes insta-love. Some people don’t like insta-love but I know several IRL couples who married after a very short time so I’ve never minded it. The story is really sweet and I liked the characters a lot.

This was super sweet. I really enjoyed it but the epilogue had me doing a rewind to see if I had really heard that right. It might had been a little more realistic further out in time. Other than that it was the perfect meet-cute short story. The characters were wonderful, the story was interesting and it was the perfect balance of sweet and sexy with no angst or drama. I do wish it was longer but as it was written for an anthology collection, I understand.
Michael is always a 5 star for me. He could read anything and I'd love it. I will say though, he doesn't really have the right voice for these specific characters, given their backgrounds. Regardless, he does use very distinct voices to tell each character apart and expresses the emotions wonderfully.

Immediate connection
A storm and a shared hotel room combine to introduce Ben and Isaac. Their connection is immediate and intense and I loved watching them get together. Michael Dean does a wonderful job of making the listener believe in their deep connection after only a short acquaintance.

A short love story!
I enjoyed this novella, where a a guy is left stranded on a vacation planned for two and another needing a hotel room find each other. It’s instalove and that what I needed today. Great narration.

Short Insta-Love
Storm, Insta-love, one bed. Bet you can guess the rest.
Even though this was a very short read/listen, it was well written.
Michael Dean did an excellent job of narrating this book. As usual, I did speed up the recording to 1.10 on Audible, which made this under an hour.

I received this audiobook for free from GRR at my request. My review is my opinion and an honest review - neither the author nor GRR influenced my opinion.
