About this listen

It is 1946, and with the war at last at an end, members of the Adams family who had been serving with the forces begin to come home.

Boots is reunited with Polly and their twins, his son, Tim, returns to the welcoming arms of Felicity, and with so many others coming back, Chinese Lady finds herself once more the watchful matriarch of the family. But grandson Daniel is still serving in an army unit out in Palestine, where he is caught up in life-threatening circumstances, and his American fiancee, Patsy, counts the days until his return.

Superb

One of my favourite books brought to life... lots of little catch up's with many members of the family after the War finishes.. introducing newer member to the family.. and continuing with Chinese lady and her sons and Daughter... Awesome...can't wait for the next book.. Such uplifting happy stories.

intriguing Family

I love the Adam family novels, but would prefer that the holocaust was kept to documentaries, I think the author was venting his own feeling of the horrendous atrocities into this book. However all family stories great as ever.

WOW!

OH MY GOODNESS!
You have to read this book.
I don't know what to say as not to spoil it, but involves someone
you will love the most I think.
The suspense is nail biting.
Also, something else which will
shatter your nerves and mess
with your emotions!

Love the Addams saga

This one was a difficult listen at times with the details of the holocaust. When I started this series I did not know anyone could right so many books and maintain the quality. So far I have not been disappointed. Excellent narration as always. She really makes the books

History, drama, brilliant characters & humour

Thoroughly enjoyable and really very amusing at times. I can, and do, read these over and over again. The one downside of this one for me is the very irritating and somewhat unrealistic American characters. I find that I can't wait for them to go and can't relax when they are "on", particularly Patsy. Pity....

Excellent.

This book was so upsetting with the datails of the holocaust. It made me cry. So well written & narrated. But the wedding gifts & other bits made me laugh.also.
