About this listen
By the year 1949, life in Walworth has almost returned to normal. Sammy and Boots, now in a highly successful partnership, are rebuilding the old family firm. But an old enemy resurfaces - Mr Ben Ford, better known as the Fat Man, who seems determined to ruin the various branches of this growing business. It takes all the well-known Adams ingenuity and determination to outwit the thugs in the Fat Man's pay.

Another heartwarming story
Reading these books is like cuddling under your favourite blanket. I find so long as I space them out enough, I always want to hear more.

Recurring traits
Every female character in this saga uses verbal threats to the Adam male in their life. Doesn’t matter if they’re from London, France or America, they are so rude and belligerent, it’s beyond annoying. They all have good legs, legs are mentioned a lot, and a penchant for wearing brown. All the youngsters fall in love at the first encounter and are always encouraged by their interested parents. Having said all that, I’m still drawn to these books, still look forward to the next story. They’re a compelling listen, sort of Enid Blyton for adults.

Didn’t ever think I’d enjoy a ‘family saga’.
I’m dreading getting to the end of the series. I only started as I was lured in by a free offer. I’m addicted and have enjoyed this saga so much so far. The historical facts explained so simply and woven into the story are fascinating. They have enabled me to research and recall stuff about my own family’s wartime experiences in London and the armed services. Brilliant stories and terrific narration throughout so far.
