Summary

One woman. One island. A bookshop in need of revival....

Jenny has never been a risk taker. But when her best friend takes off on an American road trip, Jenny finds herself saying yes to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of her own and accepts the role of a bookseller in the Maldives.

The island of Bounty Cove Cay is everything she'd hoped for: white sandy beaches, glistening turquoise waters and palm trees bursting with coconuts. But it's not all plain sailing....

The resort bookshop is far from thriving and, in an unexpected twist, management are threatening closure.

Can Jenny throw her rulebook to the wind and turn things around before it's too late? And might she find her own happy ending along the way?

Looking for your next beach story? Look no further! Escape with The Holiday Bookshop, perfect for fans of Jo Thomas, Phillipa Ashley and Jenny Colgan....

Dreaming of a holiday bookstore in the Maldives

Marianne and Jenny are best friends and they are also book lovers and owners of a little bookstore by the beach in the UK. They have worked hard to get it going and they both feel the need for a change. This brings tension in their relation and they both embark in new adventures and take a break from each other. Where will this take them?
This is a lovely story about the passion for books, the challenges of entrepreneurship, the special bond between best friends, but also travel, discovery and love.
I really liked the idea of a bookstore in a luxury resort. I have never seen one and I think book lovers would really enjoy a place where books could be an integral part of their holidays. This is a pleasant holiday read, where you can dream of great holidays and even imagine lying on the beach in the Maldives.
The audiobook is very nicely read and interpreted and contributes to making this a very pleasant reading time.

Slow slow quick quick slow

This was an ok book. I would listen again. It was slow in parts and obvious what the ending would be like.
However enjoyable
