Summary

When the curtain falls, the show is over. Unfortunately, it was opening night, and when it fell, it was definitely over for Angel Bridges!

Affairs and jealousy, not to mention old resentments, are all good motives for murder. But just which one brought the curtain down on Angel?

Join old friends from the Seattle area - DeeDee, owner of Deelish Catering; her husband, Jake, a private investigator; Cassie, a food critic for the leading Seattle newspaper; and her husband, Al, a reformed Mafioso with a sometimes questionable way of handling things, as they search for the murderer.

Dogs, recipes, and the ambiance of the Pacific Northwest come together in this, the eleventh book of the Northwest Cozy Mystery Series from a two-time USA Today best-selling author.

Killer act

I enjoyed this book because I like the characters, this is book eleven and it you have read or listened to a few books then you know what to expect. The story starts with the death and goes on to explain the events leading up to the murder and then you are taken on a twist tale as the suspects alibi's are checked. The story focuses on DeeDee as her husband and ex-Mafia partner are busy with there own case and problems, this means there is a subplot in the story involving them which doesn't effect the main case but does have an effect on the lady sleuths. I had worked out who the killer was but found there was still a twist in the tale.
DeeDee is catering a sit down meal for a celebrity after show party on there opening night. Things are going well until the star of the show is poisoned and DeeDee finds herself once again if not a suspect at least involved in another murder case. Jake and Al are busy taking care of business for the FBI and it is up to DeeDee to help the flamboyant director keep out of jail but can she find the killer? It seems there was more drama going on, off the stage than on it.
I liked the narrator, she has read a number of books by this author and always puts in a stella performance.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
