About this listen
Love and Lust. Fire and Fury
Solar - tall, strong, alpha, with midnight blue eyes and a prominent scar across his eyebrow. The leader of the revolution to overthrow King Dalyer.
Zara - delicate, elegant, and curvy. Having matured into a stunning woman she doesn’t quite realize how attractive she’s become. Kidnapped by the revolution some time ago and extremely grateful to no longer be one of the king’s wives, but she’s been living rustically since then.
They both fear Zara's upcoming birthday. It is the time that dragon females come of age to mate. Zara irrationally fears that King Dalyer will find her and recapture her as his bride; she was his favorite - though untouched - wife. Solar dreads it because he grapples with a forbidden attraction to Zara and he is certain that the men around their camp will try to claim her once she is of eligible age.
Torn between the Oracle's prophecy and his burning desire, can Solar stay loyal to the cause?
To what end will he use Zara to achieve the revolution's ultimate aim?

Loved it
I was hoping these two characters would get together. They are perfect for each other. Written well, with good strong characters. Excellent performance from Meghan.

Good pace
I liked this book and its link to the previous book. It had a good pace, and although it would be easier to follow having read the first book, I don't feel its essential as this keeps moving completely without it. Definitely planning on finishing the series

Solar and Zara
Solar and Zara were two of the characters we met in the first book in this series, although you could listen to or read this book as a stand-alone I would recommend that you listen to the series in the order it was written to get the most from it.
In this second visit to the dragon realm universe, we learn more about Solar and Zara who grew up together in the castle. She was one of the King Dalyer's wives but during the escape of Lucy with Amos, in the previous book, Zara was also rescued from her enforced wifedom. The rescue was aided by Sol who has renounced the king and is now the leader of a rebellion known as The Surge.
Zara may have been a wife to Dalyer but she is still an innocent as she had not yet reached her maturity. But as she nears her 21st birthday and her fertility season Zara is naively unaware that changes have already begun to happen with her biology so when the younger dragons start to take in interest in her she naively asks Sol for his protection. Sol has always been drawn to her, but always felt unworthy so he tries valiantly to deny the inevitable. He needs to stay focused on the rebellion but things are bound to change.
The storyline is sweet and exciting, suspenseful, funny and scorching hot. The characters are well-drawn and likeable and although you can understand Zara's resistance to take a mate you also feel for Sol who has been drawn to her for so long. Will he be able to change her mind? Will she accept him as her mate?
Meghan Kelly does a great job in narrating the story bringing every single character to life beautifully.
I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Mate
I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. This was a pretty good dragon romance with substance. Zolar, the surgence leader and Zara, betrothed to the king have a long history before they find what they truly needed. And O, the Oracle is the comic relief. I laughed and rooted for our heroes. I can't wait for the next book to find out about O's premonition.

Liked this better than the first one
Loved Solar's character. I also really liked when the couple finally mated. Can't imagine the Oracle in a relationship but I guess that would be interesting to see.
