About this listen

Heavy is the head that wears the crown.... Don't miss The Copper Heart, the exciting fifth instalment in the best-selling urban fantasy mystery series Crow Investigations.

Lydia has taken over as the leader of the Crow Family and is trying to keep the criminality to the bare minimum. DCI Fleet has told her he is ‘all in’, but there have to be limits and Lydia doesn’t want to find out what they are. When the head of the Silver Family, Alejandro, drops down dead, Lydia needs to work out whether it was natural causes or murder. And fast. Lydia has made enemies of the Pearl King, Maria Silver and her own uncle. Plus, her position at the top puts her in the sights of many more. Lydia has evaded death in the past and is gaining greater mastery over her power every day, but now she isn’t just worried about saving herself....

Epic

Excellent series of books. The narrator is awesome and the books are so well written. Just thought I'd leave this review before I listen to the final book. It'll no doubt be as addictive as the others in the series

Another fantastic book!

Wow! What a cliffhanger. I was sort of expecting it since book one. Nicely timed though. I thoroughly love this series. I don't want to sleep when listening. Absolutely can't wait for the next.

too unpleasant

I enjoyed the previous books in this series but the violence and change in the main characters personalities ( cruel) shocked and sickened me. I thought the writing was good and the setting interesting.

Over too quickly

I love Sarah Painter's books but with this one it just feels there was something missing....as if it's a bridge to the next story

An overall terrific listen

The series has been excellent - well plotted, good characters and Kate Rawson’s performance is first rate. the books would be even better with less unnecessary exposition - Sarah Painter should trust her audience to keep up - I’m not talking about some recap at the beginning of each book which is only fair to the new listener. Nonetheless, really enjoyed binge listening to the series in one go. Looking forward to the next one.

Rollicking good fun adventure fantasy in London Family gangland setting.

Rollicking good fun adventure fantasy in London Family gangland setting. Girl from the suberbs takes over family business plus comes to terms with family's powers of the Crows. Addictive. 👍😁

Enjoyable

I enjoyed listening this book and as always the narration is excellent. I just wish the author would get to the point now as nothing significant has really happened for the past 2 books. We get slight movement on different threads of the story but thats it. I feel the story is no further on really from book 2.
