About this listen

From the author of the phenomenal bestseller The Keeper of Stories, comes an utterly beautiful and charming novel full of mystery and secrets waiting to be uncovered…

‘Filled with compassion and insight . . . a true ode to friendship’ HAZEL PRIOR

‘Masterful storytelling’ CELIA ANDERSON

‘A powerful ode to friendship’ Fabulous

Her new chapter starts now…

Jo Sorsby is hiding from her past when she agrees to run her uncle’s beloved stationery shop. Glimpsing the lives of her customers between the warm wooden shelves, as they scribble little notes and browse colourful notebooks, distracts her from her bruised heart.

When she meets Ruth, a vicar running from a secret, and Malcolm, a septuagenarian still finding himself, she suddenly realizes she isn’t alone.

They each have a story that can transform Jo’s life… if only she can let them in.

The Keeper of Stories meets The Lost Bookshop in this gorgeous novel about secrets, second chances and finding friendship in the most unlikely places.

Beautiful and heart warming story

Smart narrative offering a different perspective on some famous people vs those who think of themselves average.

A really good and rather different novel.

I loved this book. A lovely novel about true friendships. Vikings can get along with average people can get along with runaway vicars can get along with atheists!

Beautiful

I just loved this book. The characters and the history of those in Highgate Cemetery. We have a trip planned to go down there after Christmas. It made me so much more eager... My husband needs convincing! Lol.. Highly recommend this story.

A nice, easy, happy story

Excellent narrator, easy story to listen to. By no means a classic but a feel-good story with lovely characters.

Disappointing

I loved The Keeper of Stories and was excited when I saw this pop up. Sadly it wasn’t nearly as good.

Uplifting tale of friendship

A lovely narration of a beautiful, quirky friendship found at an unexpected point in Jo’s life, I particularly loved the moments around the graveyard walks and the all the visitors to the stationary shop.

* A leap of Faith*

Jo is trying to heal her broken heart, Ruth (aka the run away vicar) is running away from something she is keeping close to her chest. Malcolm is trying to find his way in life in his 70’s.

The trio meet when Jo is in London looking after her uncle’s stationary shop as he unable to re his health. Jo is a lover of all things stationary so she is in her element.

This book was quite slow and I love how the trio befriend each other and become firm friends but, the best part of this book was the ending. ‘The keeper of Stories’ was much better. This story really dragged at a snails pace. It was just an ok read for me.

Just a lovely story.

Excellent narration. Lovely characters. I couldn’t “put it down”. I really got into the different elements of the characters stories alongside Jo the main girl.
