About this listen
From the globally bestselling author of the Chronicles of St Mary's series, a not-so-ladylike aristocrat meets the world's most unlikely butler, and together they bring a whole new meaning to partners-in-crime...
'Clever, funny and made my heart hurt in the best way' Stephanie Butland, bestselling author of Found in a Bookshop
Meet Lady Amelia Smallhope, for whom there is no problem that can't be solved by a drink and a think.
And Pennyroyal, for whom there is no problem. Ever.
Everyone's favourite time-travelling bounty hunters. Sorry - 'recovery agents'. No bad guy they can't handle. No expense account too flexible. No rule they cannot break.
As long as they're together, the world is their oyster. And they'll always have each other, right?
Fasten your seatbelts. The timeline doesn't know what's about to hit it.

Excellent!!!!!
I have read all of Jodi Taylor’s books & this one cleverly picks up threads from St Mary’s and the Time Police series answering questions the reader might have about various events. But it is much more than that, the strong relationship between Smallhope and Pennyroyal is explored, I absolutely loved it!
Zara Ramm reads it perfectly- for me it certainly wouldn’t be a St Mary’s book without her!

made me laugh and cry
Wasn't sure that I would like this but that changed after the first chapter. it was great. might be tricky if you've not read the St Mary's Chronicles though
Zara Ramm is wonderful yet again, if fact perfect. no one else could ever do better.

Amazing
Excellent book. Great to have some loose ends tied up and still leaving something to speculate about for another day!

Excellent
Fills in a lot of gaps in Smallhope and Pennyroyal’s background. As an avid fan of the St Mary’s and Time Police series this was great, but you really need to have read those first for this book to make sense. A brilliant addition to the collection.

Another cracking read!!
Like many, I love both the St Mary's and Time Police series, so it was inspired to have the intriguing Smallhope and Pennyroyal back stories told too! I especially liked the way this story was interwoven with the others and beautifully narrated, once again, by the wonderful Zara Ramm. I loved it from start to finish!

Compliments St Mary’s stories perfectly
Just love this story, I have listened to all the St Marys stories numerous times and I am loving the story from a different perspective. I hope there will be a 2nd story and maybe another spinoff with the mickeljon story!

Neatly dovetailed
The story nearly fitted with St Mary’s and filled in the gaps for us. Well narrated as ever. Now I’m going to read it again, as always with all Jodi Taylor books, a little slower this time!

Love it
The sense of humour is great. Love the characters and the revenge was beautiful. Also love the narrator she makes the books for me
