About this listen

AN INTENSELY CREEPY SERIAL KILLER THRILLER DEBUT, FOR FANS OF CHRIS CARTER AND M. W. CRAVEN.

Death is an art, and he is the master....

Three glass cabinets appear in London's Trafalgar Square containing a gruesome art installation: the floating corpses of three homeless men. Shock turns to horror when it becomes clear that the bodies are real.

The cabinets are traced to @nonymous—an underground artist shrouded in mystery who makes a chilling promise: MORE WILL FOLLOW.

Eighteen years ago, Detective Inspector Grace Archer escaped a notorious serial killer. Now, she and her caustic DS, Harry Quinn, must hunt down another.

As more bodies appear at London landmarks and murders are livestreamed on social media, their search for @nonymous becomes a desperate race against time. But what Archer doesn't know is that the killer is watching their every move—and he has his sights firmly set on her....

He is creating a masterpiece. And she will be the star of his show.

Brilliant book.

First off. The most important… the narrator in my opinion is very good. No annoying bad accents. Clear and easy to listen to.

The book is really good. Kind of guessed who the killer was about half way though but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the rest of the book. A really good police procedure story.
Pleased to see that this authors next book is written using the same characters and narrator so off to listen to that one next.

A bit predictable.

This is my first David Fennell book and I thought it was written. However, I knew the culprit from the outset and Grace’s history had the usual traumas expected in most books of this genre. It did stretch credulity she would have been given a job in a department where she jaded exposed corruption. Despite my comments, I did enjoy the story and the narration and I’ll definitely be listening to more from this author.

Riveting but irritating!

Great story and well-written. I was fairly hooked from the start BUT after 30+ years in the police at ranks up to Commander level I do get so irritated by procedural and other inaccuracies which begin to grate after many repetitions. A good author would do more research. For example, the Metropolitan Police has a Commissioner and not a Chief Constable. And I’ve never once heard SOCO (which should be CSI now!) pronounced Soh-co - it’s Sock-oh! Neither do officers of the same rank call themselves by their rank and a change from SIO isn’t a demotion … ah well, we live and learn. But despite that, I shall be searching for more from this author!

Good story

I enjoyed this. Something different for a crime mystery. The narrative was good, perhaps lacking a little detail on the victims, but that could just be me being picky. The main characters were also good, but again could have had more umph about them. I had guessed the ‘who done it’ half way through, but was happy to keep going. The plot twist at the end I hadn’t seen coming, so well done on that. Leaves it open for more potential books, if there isn’t any already.

Loved it.

I really enjoyed this book, I thought I knew who the murderer was, then I didn’t. It’s a bit gruesome in places but completely appropriate gruesomeness. The narration by Jess Nesling was superb and she really bought the character alive. A definite 5* from me.

Brilliant book

What an absolutely compelling listen. Cat and mouse at its most deadly, between police and a serial killer, who chooses their victims in the name of art. A dark descent into depravity of the most entertaining kind! Highly recommended!

not for me

predictable and narrator's voices for other characters made me wish I had read the book instead of listened to it
