About this listen

A powerful and emotional listen. The Anglesey Murders series is the audiobook thriller of 2021.

DI Alan Williams is called to the recovery of two bodies from the sea at Trearddur Bay, during a storm. The lifeboat crew suspect they're fishermen, washed away by a wave, but they’re wrong. Alan and his detective sergeant, Kim Davies, realise the men were beaten and tied together before they entered the water. Two miles along the headland at Porth Dafarch, a third victim is found but there are no obvious links. As the number of victims increases, a major investigation team battles to unravel a deadly puzzle that appears to have links to a series of historic murders from the '90s. Is there a copycat on the loose, or are the murders connected to the local underworld, which controls the supply of narcotics across North Wales and the North West?

Word repeat

Enjoyed the book but found it ruined by the word “said” keep being repeated and used when it wasn’t necessary

The story

I love these titles but they are spoilt with so many he said she said 🫣 there was a few parts I laughed aloud, some parts did sound like I was listening to a grown ups version of fireman sam 🤣

dreadfully written

whilst the story is good, the written word is dreadful - makes me want to ban the words he/said from the English language, it detracted from the quality of narration and the listening slots.
I persevered a) because it was a free listen and b) it was a reasonable story

Interesting and immersive

A well detailed story with good local knowledge of all locations added to a reasonable plot. Spoke interesting characters. Look forward to the next episode.

Complicated story line with lots of twists

Liked the narrative and the interesting characters, although it was as bit confusing at times

unholy

Not too keen on pronunciation use. As someone born and bread on Anglesey feel some pronunciation was more South Wales, like the word here as an example. The other issue for me is that it's a bit too gruesome.

Dreadful narration and a far fetched story

Story was a bit of a stretch and the narration was terrible. The characters tone at times didn't match the situation they were in. The voices sound like something from a comedy sketch.

Good story with a couple of interesting strands going on. Resolved in a believable way.
