About this listen

From USA Today and number-one Amazon best-selling author Jeremy Bates comes a tale of mystery and horror set in Japan's ancient Suicide Forest, a place that is easy to enter but, for some, impossible to leave.

Just outside of Tokyo lies Aokigahara, a vast forest and one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in Japan...and also the most infamous spot to commit suicide in the world. Legend has it that the spirits of those many suicides are still roaming, haunting deep in the ancient woods.

When bad weather prevents a group of friends from climbing neighboring Mt. Fuji, they decide to spend the night camping in Aokigahara. But they get more than they bargained for when one of them is found hanged in the morning - and they realize there might be some truth to the legends after all.

Contains mature themes.

Kinda enjoyble trainwreck

Culturally insensitive, illogical, nonsense, annoying main character, a male pick-me if you will, it’s like an even worse Midsommar, I don’t understand the number of good reviews

Boring unfortunately

I must’ve listened to a different book. Than the other reviewers. Sorry but to me this was not that good, this was my first Jeremy Bates novel and it will be my last. It just didn’t do anything for me. I love Supernatural horror, it was more like a teen horror movie.

Struggling

I have tried to read this 4 times. I have had to restart each time. I will finish it but it's not very engaging. I don't know, I feel like there's too much build up and not enough action

Suicide Forest

I absolutely loved this book. I read this book in one sitting and I simply couldn't put it down. It captures you and it's very suspenseful. You didn't know if it was one of the friends or something else. It's a great read. I want to read the rest of the series.

So so creepy

Oh wow. This was very disturbing and eerie, brilliantly written. It was so taut with tension that you found yourself struggling to breathe.
Not at all gory ,definate mind games .
Really enjoyed it

The fear

Although I thought it was overly long, and a bit slow in places, the concept of a suicide forest was extremely frightening. The characters were were a great mixture of personalities and they worked well in the storyline

Decent story good narration

Quite enjoyed this. Felt it dragged a bit in the middle but made up for it in the end. Couldn’t fault the narration.

The descriptive storyline allowed for a visual experience

I enjoyed the story and found the description of the different locations easily visualised , the subject matter was fascinating and I now am keen to find out more about the suïcide forest .
