Summary
Jules van der Meer... He's somebody I shouldn't want, someone I can't have.
The forbidden fruit. The desire not to be indulged in. He's wealthy, successful, important... everything I'm not.
I'm half his age. Immature and desperate.
It's what they all say—the men in the night with the fancy clothes and the shiny cars, with enough money to make me do whatever they please.
But him... well, he looks at me like I'm the answer to his prayers, a diamond in the rough. He doesn't realize how wrong he is, though.
I'm poison—putrid and vile. I'll seep into his pores, wrap around his bones, and destroy whatever light he has left until he's just like me...
Nothing but storm clouds and devastation.
Storm Clouds and Devastation is book two in the Hidden Affairs standalone MM series. This book features a significant age gap and touches on heavy issues such as mental illness.

Very dark not like the first book
The content could be very disturbing, although there are adult themed warnings it was a lot harder to listen to than I expected.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first in the series which is why I listened to this one but found it didn’t have the same vibe at all.
The narration is good as you would expect from these two.

Raw and beautiful
It is hard to put in to words how great this book and the narration is. The internal pain Bohdi is living with is so raw and you feel it in the narration. I sometimes had to pause the book to take a breath. But it was so worth it, because as the story evolves and the characters relationship develops, you are right there with them and you cheer them on. The story line is so organically written and it keeps you in a chokehold. This is the kind of book you bond with and it stays with you, but omg it hurt my heart on the way to the hard fought HEA.

Excellent story 👏👏👏
Another cracking story from Ashley James.
This was a beautiful and captivating love story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The 3rd act drama hit hard and was followed by a delightful HEA. The narration was perfection.
