Summary

The third book in the legendary series featuring the pilots of Rogue Squadron.

The Rebels have taken the Imperial headquarters world of Coruscant, but their problems are far from over.

A killer virus called Krytos is spreading among the population and fomenting a counterrevolution at the heart of the New Republic. At the same time, Rebel hero Tycho Celchu is on trial for treason, accused of murdering his comrade and fellow pilot Corran Horn.

Corran, however, is still alive, trapped in the secret, inescapable prison of Ysanne Isard, the imperial officer whose reputation for torture and cruelty have earned her the moniker Iceheart. As he fights for his freedom, the pilot discovers an extraordinary power in himself—the power of the Force!

Excellent addition to the story of Rogue Squadron

Now that the New Republic have taken the diseased planet Coroscant they must deal with the fact that Tycho Celchu has been arrested for the murder of Corran Horn and is on trial defended by Nawara Ven.

Meanwhile we discover that Corran Horn is actually alive and being held prisoner by the head of Imperial intelligence Ysanne Issard in Lusankya. He is determined to escape and with the help of other Rebel prisoners he eventually manages to do so. Whilst also discovering that Tycho was never an Imperial agent. And in fact has the same resistance grade as he himself was given 'resistance on primary phase.'

On his escape he discovers that Lusankya is actually an Imperial SSD hidden on Coroscant. He finds himself in a hidden part of a museum that contains a hoard of Jedi belongings. He takes a lightsaber to help in his escape. He then battles a few guards who have been sent to kill the escapee. Using a communication device he contacts his robot to ask for assistance.

Meanwhile, Issard orders the Lusankya to leave the planet, this is where all the parts of the story come together. Corran appears in the court as a witness for Tycho in the murder case, The rest of Rogue Squadron are battling the Lusankya which is firing at the planet's shields in an attempt to leave. And Wedge discovers that the true traitor in Rogue Squadron is Erisi Dlarit. Who joins the Lusankya on its escape from Coroscant.

At the end of this book there is a public announcement that Tycho's loyalty is beyond question as is his innocence. And it is revealed to all that part of the reason that this is known is the fact that Corran Horn is alive after all etc etc.
