Summary

Get the Spirits of the Earth box set, featuring all three books in the best-selling series. It's suspense-filled post-apocalyptic fiction with a paranormal twist. Perfect for fans of Stephen King, T. W. Piperbrook, and The Walking Dead.

The world isn't how they left it. When the bunker airlocks release them after 20 years in hibernation, the survivors find a silent, barren world outside. But they are not alone. There is a presence here, alive in the dust - spirits of the earth, benevolent and malicious as they interact with the human remnant.

Milton is haunted by a violent past he's unable to escape from, despite the superhuman speed the spirits give him.

Not interested in bearing the next generation, Daiyna, equipped with night-vision, is determined to destroy the flesh-eating mutants lurking in the dark.

Luther is a man of conviction, who believes the Creator has offered humankind a second chance, yet he's uncertain they deserve it - and he's perplexed by the talons that flex out of his fingers.

Willard is a brilliant engineer-turned-soldier, who refuses to leave his bunker, afraid of becoming infected, and willing to destroy any obstacle in his way.

As their lives collide, the mysteries of this strange new world start unraveling, culminating in the ultimate life-or-death decision one survivor will make for them all.

Excellent work

A really excellent piece of work, quite George R R Martin esque in style, the character development and the authors willingness to invest time in a character only to kill them off.
The narrator has a distinct style and depth of delivery which only adds to the effect.
I felt a little let down at the end, but wonder if it is not my desire for a well written tale to continue rather than the authors completion of the work.
I would recommend this series to anyone with no reservations.

Brilliant

I had to rewind either a few minutes or back to the beginning of a chapter quite frequently. It’s such a long and rich story , lots of groups all with important characters. I got a few muddled up but I never minded rewinding a bit to reorient myself.
I enjoyed all 44 hours of it .
A difficult story to sum up as it covers quite a lot of stories wrapped up in a futuristic, apocalyptic mix of lost meets Star Trek .
Try it if you aren’t sure , give it a few hours to start establishing a good storyline with some holes filled in. I was a bit unsure for a while

Loved it

The quality of the writing shone and I didn't want to stop listening. Rather different from the usual zombie apocalypse and way better!

a wonderfully written tale and an epic performance

a little bit of slow start but it quickly grew on me, the characters grow through the telling of the tale and are brought to life by the talented narrator. well worth a listn

Boring and childish

One for spotty teenagers. Used a credit for the full series and with 20 hours left to go I’m close to giving up and reading washing machine manual
