About this listen
NASA engineer Dr. Jackie Darling Lee is a genius about many things...the male species is not one of them (despite the many cowboy romances she reads).
Then a little friendly blackmail from a co-worker has Jackie walking into a Texas saloon ready to initiate "Operation Social Life". After making friends with her waitress and helping a drunk country beauty get home safely, she thinks she’s off to a good start.
Flynn West left his family’s rich ranching life behind after discovering his girlfriend’s gold digging ways. Now he specializes in vintage muscle car restorations in his own shop in Houston.
He’s taken women off his radar, until a wild-haired blonde drags his drunk little sister through his front door. The moment he sees those thick, black-framed glasses on that slender nose, Flynn’s captivated. Ignitions ignite, and not just from Flynn’s skills at hot-wiring cars.
But in the midst of the International Space Station being threatened and old flames reappearing, can Jackie and Flynn let go of old hang-ups long enough to reach the end of their happily ever after countdown?
Or will it be a failure to launch?

Outstanding RomCom & Narration🎧A Heartfelt Delight
I love, love, loved this audiobook, it is a delightful and fun story, one that captivated me from start to end. This is my first book written by Sara L. Hudson and I am thrilled to say I have added a new favorite author to my list. I enjoyed her writing style, the story and characters she created are interesting and original, I found them likable or rather easy to fall in love with and to relate to. I adored both lead characters, Jackie Darling Lee has a brilliant mind, a PHD and an innocence about her making her seem a bit naive but I’d say more from lack of experience due to her head buried in books or gazing into space. I will say she certainly lives up to her middle name, she is a true darling. Flynn West, a bit of a cynic when it comes to woman, but he has his reasons. He did notice Jackie while out for his sister, Rose’s birthday but his distaste of her sisters friends had him out the door. Then fate brought her into his life, when she kindly drives Rose home. He jumps to conclusions and misjudges her at first but he does lighten up a bit. He is taken by her but still has insecurities and afraid to do so he doesn’t reveal who he really is. I loved these two together, they were perfect for each other, but will his own issues and insecurities get in his way. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is brilliantly plotted and there is never a dull moment with plenty of fun times, drama, a touch of angst, some heartfelt moments and some loving romance. Sara L. Hudson, thank you for this awesome story, I hope the rest of the series comes to Audible soon.
Samantha Brentmoor and Lee Samuels are fabulous narrators and voice artists. They did an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They were great with landing the humor too. They are entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this awesome listen🎧

Space Junk
I love this book! It is the perfect Rom-Com. Jackie is this totally cute(secretly hot) NASA nerd. She needs to get a social life. This book had me laughing out loud and almost spewing soda everywhere, with how funny it was. I really hope there is a book 2 about Trisha or Rose! Can't wait to see what might happen next!

Romance plus space equals epic win!
What a delightful ride this was! Funny, sexy and so original–I fell in love with the whole story. The characters, the situations, the context, the dialogues, and, most of all, the narration.
What I enjoyed the most? Of course, the nerdy woman is also gorgeous, and the love interest is a pile of muscles, but that isn’t what they find sexy in each other. Jackie’s science lingo gets Flynn hard, and she’s aroused by… his cars. What a brilliant idea!
The side characters, as interpreted by the narrators, bring most of the comedic elements. Their meddling with Jackie and Flynn’s relationship is what makes it possible in the first place. And what ruins it isn’t one, but TWO villains–the kind that you love to hate, with no redeemable quality.
And the best is, there’s real space drama here, the kind that you find in movies like Apollo 13, with guys in Houston finding solutions for life threatening situations in orbit. Intense!

Brilliantly funny
Why did it take me so long to find this series? Smart girl romance is my jam. I loved so much about this story. The characters. The writing. The humour. The narration. Both Samantha Brentmoor and Lee Samuels were new to me, and I throughly enjoyed listening to them.
I am crossing my fingers for a Rose book because I loved that girl so much.
