About this listen

Scar is a killing machine. Born from DNA spliced between the extinct Megalodon and modern-day Great White, he has a viciousness that transcends time. His evil is reflected in his eyes, his savagery in his two-inch serrated teeth, his ruthlessness in his trail of death.

After escaping captivity, the killer shark travels to the island community Cross Point, where prey is in abundance. With an insatiable appetite, heightened senses, and skin impervious to bullets, Scar kills everything that crosses his path. His reign of terror puts him at war with the island sheriff Nick Piatt.

With the body count rising, Nick vows to protect his island community from the vicious threat. With the aid of a marine biologist, a rookie deputy, and a bad-tempered fisherman, Nick leads a crusade against Scar, as well as the ruthless scientist who created him.

Another triumph

I personally love deep sea thrillers, and Michael Cole has written some of the best, thus one is no exception, although be it a bit short, but well worth it. The characters where well balanced, the attacks definitely well described, along with Michael’s Thresher this has to be one of my favourites.

Great story. Always enjoy a good sea predator story. Safe to say I'm a fan

Really enjoyed this, terrific narration.

Good paced action horror, the usual suspects but why not? It works a treat, recommended.

Awesome Jawsome!!!!

ok, this is not great literature but if you like sharks, cheesy characters and an even cheesier storyline, this is for you!!! Jaws, Meg and Sharknado in one. I only took a star off because there were too many f words for me. Not necessary at all.

Bloody Brilliant!

I love a good shark story, so I didn't take much winning over. Fairly standard fare really in terms of general theme but there were a few really stand out parts. I love Barney's character! I like that the writer has two female leads, polar opposite characteristics but I've met people like both of them! Well written and very well performed! Give it a go if deep sea thrillers are your thing!

Average but okay

Nothing new here and very much a Benchly and Alten ripoff. If you have read the Meg series then it's worth a read.

Absolutely terrible

I generally love a Shark Opera but this is by far and away one of the worst books I’ve ever had the misfortune to listen to. It’s appallingly badly written - ‘the shark’s red eyes glowed red’ - throughout and I genuinely have no idea how it got published or indeed selected to be recorded. The reader appears to be Canadian and has a pleasant accent but he’s struggling. Oh dear, a very fishy tale.

Not for me

This book wasn't great. I found it to be poorly written, badly characterised and predictable. The narrator wasn't the best either so the audio book had no redeeming features; so much so that I gave up and returned it well before the end.
