Editor reviews

Safe Harbor is a lesbian romance and the first of seven stories in the Provincetown series.

Narrated with breathy uplift by Nicol Zanzarella, we follow Provincetown’s new deputy sheriff, Reese Conlon, a tough, smart, beautiful, and suddenly available woman. Sherrif Conlon’s swagger puts the women of Provincetown in a tizzy, but it is the brilliant Dr. Victoria "Tory" King who ultimately wins her affections. Yet the flame of new love is often at its brightest right before it flickers and dwindles down to nothing. Will the pair’s passionate relationship sustain the ordinary pains of regular life?

Several other subplots are interwoven in this poignant - and often very steamy – "slice of life" story.

Glorious

So so good. Radclyffe writes a masterclass with these stories. Brooding butches, gorgeous capable yet flawed fems, fully realised secondary characters waiting in the wings oh and sexy as hell with a Provincetown bow on top. Utter class 👌

Earlier Radclyffe books are not at all bad

I get the feeling she was not just knocking them out like her later books and, imo, this one is quite good although I had trouble suspending my disbelief about Reese's stone butch character at times. The story is a great intro to Provincetown - a place I did not know exists - and I am looking forward to listening to more of the series.

This story works well as an audiobook except that the narrator does not give different voices to each of the characters, so it gets confusing to know who is speaking at key times which unfortunately spoils the audiobook somewhat imo.

Super version of great story.

The Provincetown stories have long been favourites of mine in written form, both in paperback and ebook. This superb audio version gives so much more, especially to these English ears!
I love Nicol Zanzarella’s voice and the range of regional accents she portrays, and the depth of emotion she gives her characters truly make her narrations an absolute joy to hear. I now seek out audiobooks she has narrated, just based on the life she breathes into her characters.
I’ve just bought the second title in the series and am happily about to tackle usually mind-numbing household tasks with unexpected vigour, knowing I’ll be back in Provincetown once more.

Hmmm,,,,,

radclyffe creates another tantalising series, excellent story line and characters with depth,
alas the narrators' accents are often indistinguishable especially in conversation or thoughts, speaking so quickly I couldn't follow who said or thought what, she did however express love scenes with passion and sensuality.
update 27/3/22 reading series again I found narration better as used to her, and appreciated the young love story more too.

Radclyffe- enough said

These books are churned out without any depth of storyline or characterization.
There's a few of these authors pervading the quality of writing and are modern Pulp Fiction done badly.
Choose original Pulp Fiction for a solid enjoysble-must read that again, try Three Women or the contemporary Gravity between us for a good read
I'm sure some people think Radclyffe is great, but not me, I prefer to fund quality fiction with normal names, less technically and more 'oh noo....it's ended and I want more, not 'ah, its ending, thankfully!'
Just my pov jus saying....
