About this listen
The Royal Spyness series continues with an all-new mystery of "the British monarchy...a wedding in Transylvania...[and] wonderful characters." (#1 New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris).
Penniless and 34th in line to the throne, Lady Georgiana Rannoch finds herself in a truly draining state of affairs. To escape her hateful brother, Georgie accepts an invitation from the Queen to represent the royals at a wedding in Transylvania. But at the macabre- looking castle, Georgie finds the bride with blood running down her chin, and a wedding guest is poisoned. Now it's up to Georgie to save the nuptial festivities before the couple's vows become: to love and to cherish, till undeath do them part.

I simply love this light hearted way of telling a story …
It is entertaining and keeps you smiling from beginning to end 😃

Highly Entertaining
Vampires, Wolves and a Royal Wedding in Bavaria! All the usual suspects are there (surprisingly), as well as Lady G’s new maid, Queenie... whom I really dislike! Not because she’s evil or wicked, but because she’s just plain tedious! Because of the fabulous narration, one gets to enjoy Queenie’s mishaps and escapades but, nonetheless, she’s still tedious and irritating!
The plot for this story is both clever and childish - but not in the way that you’d imagine. A very engrossing book, I listened to this in one sitting.

Just Fabulous!
Just adore these books. The narration is so good and further enhances the story. In this book we meet the daft but lovable Queenie. Who ends up as Georgies' maid. I loved the vampire/castle undertone and the murder mystery didn't disappoint. Most definitely recommend!

A British Janet Evanovich
The strength of these books are the humourous characters. Much in the line of Janet Evanovich the actually mystery is second to the funny carryings on of Georgie and her various relatives and "staff". If you were to read a synopsis of this particular book without knowing the others you would think it ridiculous, but Rhys Bowen is very good at making the ridiculous fully believable, and utterly entertaining!

One of the better!
Oh god I love this series! It’s just so exciting, funny and overall a jolly good time. I’m glad that Darcy finally seems to be getting a grasp on his feelings, and although the vampire lark was a little overused, I did find it funny all the same. I can’t wait for the next one!

Royal Blood
Here Lady Georgina is asked to be a bridesmaid for a old school friend, only for a breath during the pre-wedding meal. With a lot of bed hopping, and unwanted guests, along with a policeman with an a gender it takes a lot of working out. Funny large way through, read brilliantly again by Katherine Kellgren.

Meh
Pretty average. The repetition of the vampire theme throughout was very annoying and silly and so was the character of Queenie which sadly is set to feature in the next book as well.

Good stories but PLEASE FIX QUEENIE’S SAYING!
The usual fun mix of unbelievable coincidence and unlikely scenarios, but once again I beg for these books to be reviewed by a UK publisher, or indeed anyone British! There is so much that is incorrect in terms of British language, etiquette and humour, the worst being Queenie saying “Bob’s your uncle”. Any British person will tell you that this means something like “Voila” or “There you go, easy as that”. It certainly does not mean some odd version of ‘yes” or “of course”. These stories could be so much better with just a tiny amount spent on proper review, and it is such a shame :-(
