About this listen
The Sterlings have been through hell. They’ve each made mistake after mistake while trying to climb out of their grief and guilt and recover from an unimaginable tragedy that had a ripple effect of consequences reaching far further than their own lives.
It seems the youngest Sterling may never find peace after everything that’s happened. But the love he has for his nephew is more powerful than any amount of pride.
The family is back together. Can they help him find his identity and restore his heart? And will that lead him to his true love?
All will be revealed in the final book of the Sterlings.
Listening to Restrictions before this one is a must! Highly recommended to listen to Regrets, Restrictions, and Restrained first.

Family drama at its finest
Book #4 of The Sterlings and we are back with Viv and Sawyer. This picks up a little ways after Restrictions (Book 2) and Sawyer and Viv still can't seem to keep their minds or their hands off each other. This was pretty much how I hoped this would go. High angst, high drama, high love for Baz. It was all there. I really enjoyed the writing and the back and forth was everything I wanted it to be. I volunteered to listen to a complimentary copy of this and my review is unbiased.

Light at the end of the tunnel
Asher Sterling moves to California to be with his family but more importantly he missed Sebastian, his late brothers, son. Vivian is with Sawyer but there is no love there for either of them. Asher and Vivian under the same roof causes major issues. He’s jealous but doesn’t want to have a relationship with her but on the other hand doesn’t want her to be with anyone else either, especially his best friend. Asher has been tortured and felt guilty over his brothers death which puts him on a path of destruction. This book gave us the hope we needed for Asher and Vivianne to go on with their lives. I loved this book, not only did it have lots of steam but also it showed us a light at the end of the tunnel for this family to start healing from their tragedy and past grievances.

What a rollercoaster of a journey for Viv & Ash
Ash and Viv's story continues in this book and these two gave me all the angsty feels in their first novel Restrictions. When Sawyer showed up on his sister doorstep at the end of the last book saying he needs to be in Baz's life so is staying with her now, Uh Oh was the first thought into my head. The timing, the situation, the anger from Ash was all front and centre for a large part of this book.
I loved that Nicole didn't shy away from the resentment Viv and Ash had towards each other or the array of emotions they were both holding onto despite the time that has passed. Exploring and navigation those things made for a great story; but I sure wanted to smack them both round the head a few times. Add Sawyer into the mix and some scenes were explosive in a multitude of ways. One character that deserves a little shout out is Baz, this kid is just a fantastic addition to the story and adds the levity you need from the intense emotional turmoil. Viv is a fantastic mother to that boy and the was Ash is with him makes my heart melt.
I am beyond happy with how the story played out and the HEA that was reached. It wasn't as angsty as I expected but I think for these two characters after what they had gone through already. The anger and the feelings from Ash especially that have gone unacknowledged for so long needed to be the main focus here, they needed to work through that to finally see how special what they have really is. The Sterlings are for sure my fave series of Nicole's so far but I have yet to meet the Monroe's so only time will tell. As I listened to the Audiobook I can hands down say that Dash Coleman and Thurlow Holmes were amazing! Their performances were on point and I couldn't think of anyone better to portray these characters!

Wow! I knew that Asher and Viviane's finale chapter was going to be a rough road, but I wasn't ready. I had to stop and take a minute to cope with all the emotions I was flooded with. This had such a great ending. I'm sad to see it come. Hopefully we will get Sawyer and Piper's story next. I don't want to say goodbye to the Sterling's yet. Dash and Thurlow did an amazing job narrating these characters.

WOW!!! Just love this!
What happens when life throws so much at you, that you can't cope? Asher is still dealing with the death of his brother Colt, and now everyone has picked up and moved to California! With Viv and Baz gone, his life has taken a huge downturn. Showing up on the doorstep may lead to anger, but what has he got to lose? He wants to be close to his nephew. Viv is still enjoying her time with Sawyer, but he's not Asher. Now that he's here, what is she going to do? Feelings fly, words are said, life is messy. Nicole Dykes purposefully takes us through all the emotional turmoil a couple can have and brings us through to the other side! Her writing is fantastic. Her characters are realistic and she brings an emotionally charged, beautiful story to our hearts. I have been completely invested in all of the Sterlings, and am so glad Viv and Asher have had their story. And who can help but just love Baz? I cannot wait to see what Dykes has in store for us next!
Dash Coleman and Thurlow Holmes conclude their narration of Asher and Viv's story with a powerful performance. This team has the voices and talent to give us all the feels. I love them together and truly enjoyed their portrayal of Asher and Viv.
