A angsty standalone where sparks fly

This was my first book by Nicole Dykes and it won't be my last. Fixation was an angsty New Adult romance that was set in a world I want more of. The story was about Elle and Blake two people that were held preconceived opinions about the other before they met that set them up to hate one another, yet attraction wins out and these two have chemistry for days and set's their paths on a collision course. What I loved about this novel was that there was no huge story line or shocking twists, the story felt real and raw it was subtle in the demons each of us fight within our own mental state and how those affect our relationships and friendships. Thurlow and Dash are two Narrators I haven't listened to before but they did a perfect job of voicing Elle and Blake. They gave emphasis when it was needed are really emoted well to put across the tense atmosphere and the emotionality behind this story where it was needed. I look forward to hearing more from this Author and these two talented Narrators.

Totally fixated

Fixation is the perfect title for this book! I was totally fixated on the story as I listened. Nicole Dykes is such a talent. She writes her stories with such passion. Elle and Blake are polar opposites. She is a planner with a goal in life. He is a trust fund baby with a passion for partying and not ties. But the chemistry between the two is strong. So strong, the two are together all the time and feelings are growing. Until doubt comes into play. Will they find a way to keep it together or is their fixation with each other over? Dykes has crafted her characters so well, there were times I wasn't sure how this was going to play out. Real depth, relevant issues and a love unmatched all come into play. I love the secondary characters too! Michael, Brandon and Gabby prove to be fantastic friends. Invested in the outcome of this couple, enjoying their witty banter and steamy passion, I listened straight through to finally find out their future! A fantastic listen and I can't wait to dig into my next Nicole Dykes book.

Thurlow Holmes and Dash Coleman are perfectly cast for this book. Holmes has a voice will suited for Elle. Regimented in life she molds her personality. You can feel her emotions change just with her inflections. Coleman plays the perfect arrogant playboy, but is able to grow as Blake's character does. It's a fabulous team and a wonderful performance.

Amazing audio book

I couldn't put this down at all. I loved it. Highly recommend it. 5 star audio book. The author picked the voice for this book.

Got! be warned!

Blake and Elle's story was steamy! Thurlow Homes and Dash Coleman are the narrators of the audiobook and they did a terrific job, I have no idea how they survived. This story is fantastic, the banter and the chemistry between the characters is so much fun to read. It hooked me from the start and I really went through the whole audiobook in record time. The angst Nicole Dykes is known for sets her target high and I love that about her. Definitely a must-read!

Another author I've been sleeping on and I'm kicking myself right now. This was so tense. I really didn't know if Elle and Blake were going to make it. But the tension kept me hooked on these flawed characters right to the end. I did have to take a couple steps back a few times but that wasn't anything to do with the book, otherwise I would have read this WAY quicker than I did. My eyes are open to Ms. Dykes now and for sure I'll be reading more for her. I was given an ALC of this and I volunteered to leave an unbiased review. Thank you to the author. My opinion are review is uninfluenced and unbiased.

Fixation

Wow Blake and Elle's chemistry is HOT! They started off as a fling with all the passion of hate and irritation. Their relationship was rocky for sure! The narration was great.

Brutally honest

Nicole has written a heartfelt book on a subject that is tough to put a positive spin on, however Nicole has managed to do just that. Good characters, and a fantastic performance from both Thurlow and Dash.

A Must Read/Listen

Fixation by Nicole Dykes is a contemporary romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Thurlow Holmes and Dash Coleman.

This is the first book of Nicole’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. Nicole did an amazing job on the storyline. I loved the chemistry between Blake and Elle. Their story will take you on an emotional roller coaster but you can’t help but root for them.

Thurlow and Dash did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would highly recommend this book if you love Contemporary Romance.

Fixation

This is my first Nicole Dykes book but I loved Blake and Elle's story so much that now I have to listen to more of her books. Elle should have kept her distance from bad boy Blake but she couldn't resist the chemistry that was between them. It was a story filled with ups and downs while Blake dealt with addiction. I loved the dual point of view and the secondary characters, Brandon and Gabby, who must have had their own story which I now have to listen to. This is a standalone but I think the characters are interconnected in several other books based on references to backstories of other minor characters. Thurlow Holmes and Dash Coleman both did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

An intense, heartfelt and angsty listen!

The chemistry between Blake and Elle was sizzling!
The narrators Thurlow Holmes and Dash Coleman did such an amazing job on the narration. I was floored by the audio delivery and their performance.

This book was intense and it's angsty as hell!!
