About this listen
Destitute and determined to finally be free of any man's shackles, Lily Benedict sets out to salvage her honor. With no choice but to commit a crime that will save her from her past, she enters the home of the recluse Derek Winters, the new Duke of Blackthorne. But entering the "Beast of Blackthorne's" lair proves more threatening than she ever imagined.
With half a face and a mangled leg, Derek - once rugged and charming - only exists within the confines of his home. Shunned by society, Derek is leery of the hauntingly beautiful Lily Benedict. As time passes, she slips past his defenses, reminding him how to live again. But when Lily's sordid past comes back, threatening her life, it's up to Derek to find the strength to become the hero he once was. Can they overcome the darkness of their sins to find a life of love and redemption?

Brilliant story
Brilliant story as usual but I think this was one of my favourites I cried and I laughed as I did in quite a few of Christi Caldwell's books. I can't stop listening to them. I bought almost all of them. The only thing is that I wish they wouldn't finish so abruptly once they get together. Also I would have liked Maxwell to be there at the end not just St. Cyr. Another thing I would wish there to be more of in these wonderful books is more steamy sex . There's only one short scene in every book. Which for me is a bit disappointing. Tim Campbell was great as always. I love his voice and narrating he's brilliant.

once again the campbell-caldwell-combo is perfect.
ok so no seriously, how much lemon and ginger tea did poor tim go through reading this book? the raspy voice was perfect, never straying into silly territory (looking at you, mr armitage) and brimming with emotion...
perfection! one of her most cathartic books and a brilliant performance...
