Summary

Lola Sphinx's life as a witch has always been rather normal. That is, until a non-magical man from the 1960s wound up stuck in her world. When Detective Dereck gets a little jealous, he takes Lola out on a lunch date to talk about her new friend, whom she has cleverly disguised as an elf.

But when one of the servers winds up dead, can Dereck put his jealousy aside to work along with Lola to find the killer at large?

This is a perfect short cozy for when you need a few minutes to immerse yourself with magic, mystery, humor, and mischief!

Rats and Bats! is the third book in the Lola Sphinx Cozy Mysteries.

Vampires, witches and humans

This book is a fun short story. I don't like the way the story is interrupted to ask for you to leave a review but other than that I liked the plot. The book continues where book two left off and I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been just one book. Having said that I like characters and look forward to the next book.
Lola is back in her own world but she is not alone, a human also travelled through the gate with her and her friends. A human that she must hide in her shop while she tries to work out how to get him home. A jealous detective decides that with a new man in her life he had better step up his game. The problem is while on there date a server at the New cafe is murdered. They worked so well on a previous case Dereck asks Lola for her help again.
The narrator keeps the book interesting with the use of a variety of voices.

fun story

This was a very short but cute story with lots of interesting characters and a simple murder mystery. Fun Sunday afternoon read.
