Summary
Welcome to Serpentine City. The mafia rule, and we're about to be indoctrinated.
Cobra's the heir to the throne, and he's been given an ultimatum.
Form a pack...or else.
Now, we're fighting for our lives and each other.
Will Jax, Xerxes, Ascher, and Cobra fall apart under the pressure?
Will Sadie be strong enough to handle what they want?
Will their tension crumble into hatred? Or build into love?
Between training and fighting for our lives, it's about to go down like never before.
We may have survived the Fae realm, but the real test has just begun.
*This is audiobook three in the Cruel Shifterverse Series. Psycho Shifters and Psycho Fae must be listened to first.*

Loved it!!!
I don't understand why some are so disappointed. Maybe it is that marmite effect. But I loved it!
This book keeps going with ongoing problems chasing them and life challenging new things to overcome or die.
Sadie is pushing on. She is broken, but when hasn't she not been broken. But she's determined to keep going, if not for herself, for her sister and Aran.
Her relationship with the MMCs is unknown in her eyes. Yes, they proclaim she is their but....
Is it just a shifter base need to own her?
Do they really want her, when shes so broken?
How could they want her for more than just a toy 🤔?
Some of the things that keep running in her head. And why not, she's a woman who's had no interaction with men besides bootleg human TV, Romance books and her Guardian whipping her with a belt till she bleeds and scars, everyday of her life.
Then she was picked up, literally! Found she was not a Null but an alpha, then thrown into the battle with three huge alpha men. So, self-doubt is understandable.
Then someone tried to rape her, kill her, and kidnap her, and they were supposed to be fighting on her team....so yea, more trust issues.
Even then, she kept her dark sense of humour, kept her confidence up with brute inner force (and the numb), and this sense of open innocence. No wonder she and Aran connect so well. And her men, she is loyal to them, and in this book, she continues to be loyal to them, even with the unsure stance with them. Book 2 was frustratingly close to getting dicked as she calls it 🤭
Now the guys, Cobra crazy self is my favourite. He just doesn't know how to love and his need to own Jax, and now Sadie, "she's my kitten," is a little more understandable when we discover he is no ordinary Beast. Xerxers our knife loving warrior surviving omega, fits in so quickly and adds more edge to the group. While Ascher and Jax remain strong, with Ascher being more like a Jax in the making as he grows a little more. But they all nearly mess up and turn into extra Alphaholes. You will see why, well if you read the book you will.
Book 3, Jax's and Sadies sisters join the gang, and Sadie and Aran get to enjoy their female side more. Which is fierce sisterhood, full of fighting (come on why not, the guys do it all the time, equal rough play for all genders!!!)..., strangling, crying, night terrors (more strangling), and hugs (plus strangling). Especially as Aran is disguised and going through a huge inner turmoil herself that's crushing her inside out. When I read what happened I was gasping with shock. I mean that is darker than I thought, and I had being set on fire and beating in my head as she doesn't reveal exactly what happened in the faie world till later. But yea! What the hell!!!
Oh and Jinx is deadly scary, and hilarious. I love how she and Cobra bond over the darkist things and shes 12. Her explaining what BDMS is to the older girls was hilarious and her answer to how "I've been places" and the answering "how you are 12!" Had me laughing out loud. As well as the lab and her reasoning for the death of a student not being her fault and the ferret with false eye lashes....
You know what, just so much fun in such a fcked up dark world(s) and series of fcked up dark impossible why me events!
The Dark bits deals with suicidal thoughts in the heat of the moment when pushed to the extreme, suicide or just thoughts of world be better without is voiced. Physical and mental abuse suffered is described in some detail. And sexual attacks, abuse also mentioned. So be warned!
Oh and smut level increased to great levels, with added POV from one or more of the guys. Yes yes and yes!!!! Hot 🔥
The ending also had me cracking up, I don't know how others were so disappointed. Then again like Sadie I think I have some ADHD thing going on in my mind, so I could of missed something others were hoping for.
I loved it 😍

Like the writing in this series so far. This is book 3 and you need to start with the first one. Like how she is badass.

Loved it!
Love the series with its funny characters and intriguing storyline. New favourite! The plotline have become a little confusing during the last two books, so I'm hoping the next books will clear it up. Can't wait for it to come out though! One critic I have about the audiobook is that the "British accent" is a little funny, but it honestly doesn't bother me too much.

Loved it
Love this series but always feel like it should be a male narrator for the captors from the men’s pov. Can’t wait for Erin’s story to get out!
