Romantic with a Dash of Suspense
These were my first Terry Odell books and they were exactly as one would expect them to be. I enjoy mysteries and a bit of suspense and these stories definitely had that. The stories were also romantic and sweet. Perhaps, what I enjoyed most of all was the fact that the characters and the plot lines were more balanced. Both protagonists in each story were intelligent, strong while simultaneously being vulnerable. I reckon relationships with persons in the police force would present its own challenges, and Terry Odell tried to incorporate this fact into the plot lines.
As usual, Kelley Hazen gave a stellar performance while narrating these books. She can be counted on to add texture to the story in a way that compliments the characters, action and events.
Overall, this collection of audiobooks was entertaining and easy to listen to.

Great Disappointment
I think this is the Noddy and Big Ears of crime fiction. The story was bland and predictable and the love interest and dialogue were just cringeworthy. I purchased this as a 4 book offer - I managed to complete the first book - just to see if there was any improvement as the book progressed. There wasn't. I cannot read the following books.
