Summary

Versatile narrator

The strength of Fred Vargas' novels lies in the characters and their relationships (though the plot can be so far fetched as to require active suspension of disbelief). Enjoyed the very expressive narrator who was able to bring the different characters to life - especially the interplay/contrast between Joss Le Guern and Decambrais in the first half of the book. (my first language is English, trying to improve received French by listening concurrently with reading!)
