About this listen
Friends-to-lovers, feel-good gay romance. Contains a whole lot of man-on-man love action, preparations for Christmas, and an elopement to Gretna Green.
Impulsive and romantic, Connor is set to take over the family business, Sky High Scaffolds, with his siblings. But he might be ruled out as a future CEO because, even though he's almost 30, he's still single. Connor makes a life-changing discovery about a member of his construction team.
Lee is gay, but no one at work knows. The macho scaffolding crew isn't known for gay-friendliness. At 29 years of age, sexy scaffolder Lee is looking for love and commitment. He is not about to hook up with any straight guy who is going through a gay experimental phase. Especially not his work colleague and boss. Lee fears rejection if and when Connor wakes up and realizes he is not bisexual and not into guys.
Connor fears losing the love of his life if he cannot prove he's serious about him and win Lee's heart.
Christmas is a really big deal in Britain. The parties and preparations begin in November, at the latest.
In the construction industry, it means two weeks off work for Connor and Lee. Yes, two weeks. They've only been dating since September. In secret. They just want to spend the holiday time together, like any other gay guys in love. Alone and mostly naked.
And we all know the true meaning of Christmas is explaining and justifying to friends and family how you are spending the holiday and who with.

A good story but not the easiest audio
What did you like best about Our Secret Wedding: Our Secret Christmas? What did you like least?
I liked the speed of the book, it moved along at a good pace. We dive straight in with Connor asking himself questions when spotting Lee in a compromising position and he takes action rather quickly, if a bit rash. Both characters take the time to build up on their relationship though which is great instead of just diving head first into the physical aspect, taking the time to learn about each other.
What did you like best about this story?
favourite moments - the beginning of the book with how quickly Connor seemed to want to jump into things with Lee. Very brash, wanting Lee but going about it in completely the wrong way initially. Oh, and THAT part where they head up north for the weekend! So friggin' cute!
I love the development of Lee and Connor's relationship, the speed they take it.
Would you be willing to try another one of Tod Scott’s performances?
Maybe one more to see whether it's any different to how he voices characters in another book, This one fell a bit flat for me, monotone.
Could you see Our Secret Wedding: Our Secret Christmas being made into a movie or a TV series? Who would the stars be?
I think so yeah, seeing them both work at their relationship from the outset. Bringing in supporting characters, Connor's gay friends, both their work colleagues/friends and Lee's family.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the story-line of the book with an enjoyable cast but things seemed to come to a quick end at the end of Our Secret Wedding but it was nice to have some more details of the developing relationship of Lee and Connor in Our Secret Christmas. This may have been an easier book to listen to with a different narrator but for me it fell flat with both character voices, not much difference between them.

Sweet story...
If you're looking for a really sweet low angst story, then you would love this book. I did like the story but didn't love it. It flowed nicely and the characters are sweet and very likeable. The narrator is easy to listen, so the characters are easy to distinguish when talking. There is also a bonus Novella at the end of this book, which is a nice finish to the audio book.

Dreadful
The narrator was awful. Dreary is about the best I can say. No idea about the story, as I could not bare to listen any further.
