Summary

Atticus Mulvaney is the eldest son of eccentric billionaire, Thomas Mulvaney - a role he takes very seriously. Atticus takes everything seriously. Like his brothers, Atticus is a psychopath, raised to right the wrongs of a broken justice system. Unlike his brothers, he’s not very good at it.

Jericho Navarro is no psychopath, but he is a vicious killer. Like Atticus, he also has a secret life. To most, he’s just a mechanic. But to a ragtag group of social misfits, he’s Peter Pan, teaching them to eliminate those who prey on the weak with extreme prejudice.

When Atticus and Jericho come face to face over a shared enemy, their accidental meeting ends in an explosively hot hookup neither can forget. But they have nothing in common. Atticus is a buttoned-up closeted scientist and Jericho is a man on a mission, determined to find and punish those responsible for the death of his sister. Still, Jericho can’t stay away. And, truthfully, Atticus doesn’t want him to.

As Jericho’s mission begins to bleed into Atticus’s life, two separate but equally brutal families will need to learn how to fight together to take out a common enemy. But no amount of brute force can show Jericho how to scale the walls of a psychopath’s heart. Can Jericho convince Atticus that, sometimes, the couple who kills together stays together?

Moonstruck is a high heat, intense psychopath romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers. It features a fumbling, sexually confused maniac and the dominating, unapologetic gang leader who can’t stop tormenting him. As always, there’s gratuitous violence, very dark humor, more killers than you can count, and enough explosive chemistry to level a city block. This is book three in the Necessary Evils series. Each book follows a different couple.

Standout in an original series

What a great addition to this captive series. Once I start a really good book, I have to keep listening till it’s done and then I’m unhappy it’s over. In this story Atticus is so much more human. I have to admit after this I’m not sure he can be really categorized as a psychopath. After Jericho’s talk with Thomas, it left me wondering.
Atticus’s attraction to Jericho and Jericho’s attraction to Atticus is almost magic. How they meet and interact actually made me laugh. It is so ironical that instead of being mortified I actually found it funny! The way these two find themselves so passionate about each other is heartwarming. Their intensity and protectiveness of each other just held my attention hostage.
I love how the secondary characters play into this story. As usual the “brothers” on both sides made me happy these guys had all somehow found each other. I enjoy the personalities this author has given each character. This series is one that I will listen to again and again just because of the originality. I feel the narration by Liam DiCosimo brought the characters to life. I enjoy audio because it give me a chance to feel the situations and characters better.

Fantastic in audio!

l love this series!! Moonstruck is the latest audio addition and is really good! Story reviewed on Amazon.
Liam DiCosimo has a good range of voices for characters, especially Jericho, (upbeat), Atticus, (staid, little inflection - well, he is a psychopath). But I especially loved his voice for Felix - he sounded just as judgdy as described in the book, lol!
The story is brilliant (as is the whole series) and the audio only adds to making this a 'must listen to' series.

dark and spicy

this is a wonderful romance, especially in audio. the plot moved fast and was a little different from what we have seen previously but worked well. there are a lot of characters and individualizing them was a little difficult but not enough to cause any real trouble.

Fantastic, possessive, and steamy

I've diligently followed each new release in this series, and now that the audios are starting to come out I've been able to revisit all my favorite couples! Liam DiCosimo was once again spot-on in his interpretation of Atticus and Jericho, and though I didn't think it was possible, I love them even more after listening to their story all over again.

I found it fascinating to unravel all the intricacies of Atticus's mimicry and how it differentiated him from his psychopath brothers, and once again I'm so impressed by the careful thought this author put into developing Atticus's personality. Atticus could certainly detach himself from situations a neurotypical person would find alarming, but he displayed much more emotion that I've come to expect. I absolutely loved watching the way he reacted to Jericho's dominance, especially in the beginning when he couldn't even put a name to the things he wanted from him.

Speaking of Jericho, I seriously don't think I could have loved him and his band of boys any more. Jericho himself was such a firecracker of passion and effortless dominance, but also caring and protective when it came to those he considered family. I was thrilled by the no-holds-barred way he pursued Atticus, and as a result their story was absolutely packed with sexy, steamy moments. There was nothing more arousing than listening to Atticus melt into putty at Jericho's command, and as I learned how much Atticus needed to let go of control, I saw their time together in a different light. Yes, there's no doubt that Jericho and Atticus set the sheets on fire, but they also filled a deep need for one other. Atticus's submission gave him a safe place to let go and embrace his need for touch and affection, but also meant everything to Jericho in a world where so little was in his control. The way Atticus could calm Jericho from a rage by offering himself up was really sweet, and I just loved the way they wanted each other to the point of becoming inseparable.

As if Jericho and Atticus weren't adorable enough, Felix, Lake, and the rest of the "neighborhood watch" were an unexpectedly amazing addition to this story. Their involvement not only provided endless teasing and entertainment but also made me feel like part of a big, protective, slightly murderous family. It was so much fun to see the way the Mulvaneys and Jericho's crew teamed up to hunt down Mercy's killers, and their combined take-out mission had me on the edge of my seat. I didn't realize I was missing that feeling of connectedness from the other books in this series, but now that I've fallen in love with yet another quirky adopted family I'm hoping they'll keep popping up in the future books! I'm definitely looking forward to whatever havoc Avi and Felix will wreak on the fashion world, and who knows where the other boys and Mulvaneys will cross paths.

With so many amazing characters, an action-packed storyline, and a deliciously steamy romance, Atticus and Jericho's journey couldn't have made me happier. I didn't even have to wade through much angst to know that these men are never letting each other go, and their non-traditional anniversary gifts only made me more sure that these men know each other inside and out.

Loved every word

Another book in this series that proves that psychopathic romance is now a firm favourite genre for me. Great narration, wonderful story bringing in another slew of integral and engaging side characters. Great listen.

Wonderful addition to the series

I absolutely loved this
It was dark, twisted, intense and full of bloody violence and action.
The interaction between Atticus and Jericho was amazing.
Jericho's possessive nature brought out a submissive side to Atticus that he desperately needed to express and in turn his submission gave Jericho a much needed measure of control he was lacking.
These two together were sinful sex personified.
The found family aspect and secondary characters were an integral part of the story.
Liam DiCosimo did an amazing job narrating.

Love this series

This one was a little different with both Atticus and Jerico being involved in cleaning up the city. A ton of new characters to meet and a bi-awakening.
