Maurice Denham is a charm

The stories here are complex and well told, especially the story about the government minister. The other story about Monsieur Charles was cruel but excellent, but the story about a man's suicide was depressing. Overall still brilliant

Great Adaptation

This is a great adaptation of Georges Simenon's Maigret.

Four BBC Radio 'Maigret' plays

I like Simenon's Maigret, each story is fairly short, a police crime stories with a puzzling twist. I like the BBC adaptation of 4 books, Maigret and the Minister being the first and Maigret and Monsieur Charles being the third. Georges Simenon 'interviews' Chief Inspector Maigret and the conversation turns into action as the cast take over. A lovely clear recording with a very engaging cast. I particularly like to listen to Maurice Denham (Maigret) who starred in many British productions, he is Poirot in a BBC radio production of Agatha Christie's The Mystery of the Blue Train which I always find a pleasure to listen to.

Atmospheric radio dramas

These radio dramas evoke Maigret's Paris. Splendid mix of voices well performed by cast of actors.
