About this listen
THE INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER - 27 MILLION COPIES SOLD WORLDWIDE
On the day after Christmas, head of Department Q Detective Carl Mørck finds himself handcuffed in a police car headed for Copenhagen's Vestre prison. After 15 years, a violent case from his past has caught up with him. Charges of drug trafficking and murder threaten to destroy his life and career.
But he is being framed. Someone has a million dollar bounty on his head to make sure he doesn't talk, putting him in grave danger among the prison's incarcerated criminals and corrupt officers. The question that remains is, why?
Carl's colleagues at the Copenhagen Police Department instantly turn their backs on him, leaving the ever-loyal Department Q team as his only hope. In search of answers, Rose, Assad, and Gordon must disobey direct orders from way up the chain to try to unravel the case.
With only each other to trust and Carl's battle against the unknown mastermind's henchmen worsening by the day, they must work faster than ever before if they are to clear his name - and save his life.

A great end to a fantastic series of books
Full of humour, scandi darkness and all the characters that have made this series an enjoyable listen.

Complex compelling story
I love the department Q series and this did not disappoint. The handling of the characters and plot is sublime. The only thing that I dislike is one aspect of the translation. Gotten is not a word that has any place in good grammar and it’s repeated use in this translation rather grated on me.

Excellent Story
Superb Finale by Jussi to the Dept Q series. I have to draw the conclusion that he had drafted this in basic terms when the original book all those years ago was written.
It would be easy to plead that more books were written in the future but Carl Moerk has earned his place in history, and the clever ending putting him in Jussis' shoes lets him retire from police homicide work in peace.
I look forward to whatever else Jussi has to over in the future!

Stunning stories and narration
Stunning stories and narration (pacey) all 10. I could elaborate at depth but most simply they are my favourites out of the 1000 audiobooks I have listened to. Give book 1 a go.

Wonderful end to a great series
As always a grate book with pace and plot twists, but this final book of the series answers all the questions posed throughout the end, we reconnect with old characters and all in all this is a delightful and to and enjoyable relationship with department Q and it’s endeavours

a tying ip of loose ends
I've loved all if these stories and looked forward to this last one. however I felt that it suffered from being so much of a prequel .
the way old stories a d characters from the past were woven together I found quite confusing and hard yo make sense of. But I'm sorry to see the back of these well loved characters
