Summary

A return to a hostile realm. A past seeking revenge. Can a troubled professor protect his beloved college from a murderous nemesis?

Ravi Gupta’s dark secret is unravelling. After years of hiding a dangerous portal discovered through foolish magic, the regretful academic worries his brilliant student has recklessly used it to travel to an alien world. And though he’s loath to go back, he stealthily opens a passage and journeys to the perilous land, desperate to save the missing scholar.

Shocked to discover his treacherous former partner is also hunting the fugitive, the frantic tutor helps the young undergraduate flee to safety. But he soon finds there’s no escaping a monstrous intruder endangering the university…or the vengeful foe that followed him home.

Can Ravi confront his greatest mistake without paying a fatal price?

Legacy of Shadows is the thrilling third book in the Cambridge Gothic urban fantasy series. If you like conflicted characters, otherworldly settings, and fast-paced action, then you’ll love Mark Wells’s sinister conclusion.

Superb conclusion to an excellent trillogy

The audio equivalent of a page turner. Binged all three books in the series and I do hope there will be more to come.

I have thoroughly enjoyed these books, the characters and the world building are what I look for in this type of story.

A brilliant third book in a fantastic trilogy.

These books get better each time and translate superbly to audio. The narrator is excellent and really brings the characters to life. The characters are very endearing, and the narrator makes it easy to visualise them. The story itself is very enjoyable, imaginative, and set in 'real world's Cambridge, but with a 'dark materials' adventure twist that is easy to follow. The descriptions of Cambridge make the story very real, especially if you are familiar with the city. All 3 books are gripping, and the series is on knife edge right to the end. It's definitely one of my favourite series of books ever!
