About this listen
What happens when you meet the right guy at the wrong time?
When Vincent Alesi's estranged father dies, he gets on the first plane from New York City to Rome to be at the memorial service. Even if he has to max out his credit card. Even if he hates the man for leaving him. Even if it's a day before Christmas.
Everything that can go wrong does go wrong, and Vin ends up trusting a complete stranger with all his secrets, even the ones he didn't know he had.
Luca Romano's job as a flight attendant takes him all over the world. But a jet-setting lifestyle is not what he wants. His dream of opening his own restaurant is being placed on hold over circumstances beyond his control.
Timing is everything....
When Vin bursts into Luca's life, both men fall fast and hard. But their lives, their dreams, even the cities they live in couldn't be more different.
Their few days together in Rome are romantic, emotionally intense, and leave them both wanting more.
Can a fleeting love affair change their lives forever?

Heartwarming tale
If you could sum up Kiss and Ride in three words, what would they be?
Heartwarming. Satisfying. Gentle.
What did you like best about this story?
I liked the instant attraction between Luca and Vin, the trust and support. I also liked the fact that it then took time for them to become a proper couple, both completing previous commitments.
What does Dan Rider bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
I read the book and gave it 4 Happy stars. On listening to Dan Rider's narrative it lifted my opinion to a 5 star book. He gave the story that extra bit of something!

as good as the ebook
The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Great Romantic Author
I’ve listened to a number of books by the same author. I have enjoyed each one. They seem to all share one thing in common. A love of romance with great variations in each individual story. This story is largely set in Rome with two guys who are very much estranged in differing ways from their families. It starts a few days before Christmas trapped in a lift at Rome’s International Airport .......

The reader's harsh and high pitched tone
The reader's nasal tenor is harsh and not easy to listen to for a whole four hours plus!

Stars for trying
At best, this was pedestrian. There was no chemistry between MC's and much of the story was spent on food (shopping for food, cooking food, eating food) while the emotive parts of the story were glossed over. I wasn't a fan of the narrator, but realistically, I don't think he did any harm to the 'characters'. While they had the potential to be interesting, their personalities were obviously secondary to the food.
