About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Kurt Austin and the NUMA crew risk everything to stop a cutthroat arms dealer from stealing a priceless ancient treasure in the thrilling new novel from the number one Sunday Times best-selling grand master of adventure.

In 1074 BC, vast treasures disappear from the tombs of Egyptian Pharaohs. In 1927, a daredevil American aviator vanishes on an attempted transcontinental flight. And in the present day, a fishing trawler - along with its mysterious cargo - sinks off the coast of Scotland. How are these three mysterious events connected? And, more importantly, what do they mean for Kurt Austin and his NUMA team?

As they search for answers, the NUMA squad join the agents of the British MI5 to take on a wide-reaching international conspiracy. Their common enemy is the Bloodstone Group, a conglomerate of arms dealers and thieves attempting to steal ancient relics on both sides of the Atlantic. Kurt and his team soon find themselves wrapped up in a treacherous treasure hunt as they race to find the lost Egyptian riches...before they fall into the wrong hands.

A classic Cussler roller-coaster of an adventure

With an engrossing plot, and great narration, this novel sends you on a fairground ride of ups and downs, withing a hard to put down storyline. Cussler and Brown hit the success button right on with this rip roaring tale.

very enjoyable

This book pretty much has action from start to finish. So if that's what you like then this book is for you. I thought the narrator was excellent. I really enjoyed this book

Pure Cussler

Another brilliant storyline from Cussler and a rock solid performance by Scott Brick.

This plot could easily have incorporated The Fargo’s, Dirk and Al along with a prologue featuring Isaac Bell.

Good book spoiled by distracting narration

Really struggled to get into this book. Normally love Cussler but the narration was off-putting. Variation in tone is great but not when in the wrong places! Added stresses and punctuation in very odd places . I applaud the reader for trying accents , but if you do try broad Scot it shouldn't lapse into Irish half way through a sentence.
Good book spoiled. The clue is in the word "Audio." ! If necessary re record the sections that go wrong, don't leave them in to distract a poor defenceless listener!
