Summary
A gripping, action-packed thriller about a deadly government assassin framed as a traitor - with the explosive action that fans of Lee Child, Gregg Hurwitz, Vince Flynn and James Swallow will love.
EVERY OPERATIVE KNOWS THE RULES.
The mission comes first. You are a deniable asset. Betrayal is punished by death.
Alex Reeve - known as OPERATIVE 66 - is a former special-ops soldier and one of the UK's most lethal weapons. Previously a member of SC9, an elite covert unit with a remit to assassinate the country's enemies, Reeve was framed for treason and now lives a nomadic existence - as the merciless killers he once trained alongside hunt him down.
For a chance of a normal life, Reeve must expose and dismantle the sinister SC9. So when a series of brutal killings in Germany have all the hallmarks of an SC9 tactic - the murder of 'ghost targets', decoys to camouflage the true intended victim - Reeve finally sees opportunity for revenge.
Sucked into shadowy conspiracy involving dark global powers, Reeve will risk his life to save others - and to secure his freedom. But if there's one man with the skills to do so... it is Operative 66.
From the internationally bestselling author of the Wilde & Chase series comes an explosive thriller - the perfect pulse-racing listen for fans of LEE CHILD, VINCE FLYNN and GREGG HURWITZ.

Thoroughly enjoyable
This is an excellent book with a good story and well narrated by Simon Mattacks. I cannot wait for the next instalment because there are all sorts of twists and turns just waiting to cause us (the listeners & readers), more anxious moments! Please write much faster Mr McDermott because I must know what happens next!

Great third installment, hopefully of many to come...
Loved the continuity of the main characters, not so keen on the threat coming from the same adversaries, but having been a keen fan of the Chase and Wilde series, where there are different enemies in each of the books, I confess to hoping that Reeves gets a new enemy next time... otherwise no complaints, love the pace, and the growth of the characters.

Alex Reeve Book 3 - Another good one
Alex Reeve is back straight off the back of the incident in Venice and still on the run. I really enjoyed the pace of this story and the shift to another different country. At times, the writer seems to fade off into random elements of research they personally found interesting, but not so much from the readers perspective, and some of the signposting in the book is far to obvious to be fun, but as a recipe of sky/espionage/ chase thriller, this is overall a good addition to the Alex Reeve series.

Great, come on Book 3
I listened to this probably in about a week and really enjoyed it. Lots of books I hear, take me a while to get through as drag on a bit but not this.

Predictable and dull
Oh dear a very thin story with too much description of unbelievable “fighting / chasing scenes.
