About this listen
Lorcan was seven years old when his mother first heard him say "I love you". The words were not directed at her, but at Jessi-cat, the family pet.
Lorcan suffers from autism and selective mutism, rendering him unable to speak in certain situations. This all began to change with the arrival of a kitten named Jessi-cat.

Heartwarming and interesting
This excellent book is heartwa4 and at the same time very interesting and highly informative. For those who's simply love castor appreciate the value if a special pet in the family as well as for hose who are interested in Asperger's or selective mutism this book tells a true tale of a personal experience and a family life deeply enriched by the arrival of their amazing Birman cat For hose of us who's lives have been bless by having a Birman cat in our lives this confirms what we knew about this unique and beautiful cat breed

Best book I have listened to
This book is great so well written it could of been talking about me and my steps sons if they were my kids selective mutism autism and Aspergers are definitely not what I expected the book to be about so was complete surprise I got a hard copy of the reading book and I also have the audiobook version I shall be keeping both so got which ever version I fancy next time round. This book is hardly about cats in general as I thought it was another cat story but no nothing like that it's equally about a family and as said its about a child or 2 with autism and selective mutism very well worth a read or listen

An interesting read.
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
if my friend was the parent of a child on the autistic spectrum or interested in health matters, yes. Not sure otherwise.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Don't have one.
Have you listened to any of Kate Lock’s other performances? How does this one compare?
no.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
No.
Any additional comments?
I'm not a cat lover but I am interested in learning about illness and disabilities and health in general so enjoyed this book. Thought it was read well too.
