Summary

In "James Penney's New Identity", in the dry desert of Southern California, James Penney is laid off from the plant after 17 loyal years of service. With the threat of the bank repossessing his treasured red Firebird, he goes on the run. But why are the cops so hot on his trail? And who is the tall military policeman, built like a weightlifter, who offers him a ride?

Set just a few minutes before the terrifying opening of the best-selling Jack Reacher thriller Gone Tomorrow, in "Guy Walks into a Bar", old habits die hard for Jack Reacher. He is always on the lookout for trouble. When he stops at a bar in lower Manhattan for a late-night beer and some music, his eyes are drawn to a rich young Russian girl and her bodyguard. Is she in danger? Who are those two suspicious-looking guys sitting at separate tables, watching her?

These two short stories are part of the Storycuts series.

Lee Child

Lee Child, fair author, always engaging and interesting. Two good short stories, quick and concise, very simple and easy to read.

classic Lee Child

I enjoyed these stories though they were VERY short, especially the second one. Had I paid the full price for these I would have been unhappy.

Worst lee child book

This is my 23rd down load of lee child books and this is by far the worst. Don’t waste your money. I love all the jack reacher books but this was the same price as my other lee child books but only 90 mins long with no middle or end very strange.

Pointless

As a loyal Lee Child follower I feel I am being tested £8.99 for a pointless no-story and Tom Cruise playing 6"5 Reacher. I will be very wary about spending any more money on a Lee Child product.
