Summary

The first three thrillers in the international best-selling Sam Pope series: The Night Shift, The Takers and Long Road Home.

Join the fight.

The explosive series begins with The Night Shift, where ex-sniper Sam Pope leads his own investigation into a bombing at the London Marathon, setting himself on a collision course with some of the most dangerous criminals in London.

The Takers sees Sam continue his one man war on organized crime, as the search for a missing girl leads him into a war with a sickening human trafficking empire.

And lastly, Long Road Home finds Sam in Europe, racing against the clock to locate his former mentor who is being hunted under the suspicion of terrorism.

Enunciation lessons for the narrator needed

The narrator's way of clustering words and running out of breath during the sentences makes me wonder how he became one! the stories are not original enough for me to carry on (read 1+ from the first 3 books), although if the narration was brilliant, I probably would.
Echoing some previous reviews: too many repetitions of "muscular arms", "he was a good man", "missing Jamie", "best trained killer", etc.

Outstanding

Stumbled across the Sam Pope series by accident but absolutely love the books now. Easiest way to sum it up is Jason Bourne mixed with John Wick but British. Really hard to turn off once the action starts. A really addictive series.

Great action books, the British Punisher!

Great action books, really enjoyed all three and now ready for the next one in the series.

Great Drinking Game Series

This book series is great for a drinking game! Have a shot for every 'He Was A Good Man' and 'It Was The Right Thing To Do' and you will never finish a book sober!!

Because it's the right thing to do

Sam Pope takes out very bad people doing terrible things 'because it's the right thing to do'. Loveable hero, compelling story and vividly graphic fight scenes that i thoroughly enjoyed! Cant wait to start book 4

Entertaining

But gruesome lurching from one yucky event to another. Wish they had a better narrator though. Definitely not the best

Disappointed

Unable to listen to this as I was too distracted by the performance.
For me, there was no punctuation, no break at the end of a paragraph, it was confusing as the narrator would change to a different character, situation, in what seemed to be the same sentence. unfortunately I struggled with with this.

like it except........

Like the books we are listening to the second series, deducted one star, as the past book is re rehashed to much in the next book and every book there after, time and time again, if you like the books the repeated story from the first book is pasted a lot in the follow up books, that maybe okay if you start at a book further down in the series, I Would however not do that as this will make the reader curious and read the earlier books even start at the first to find out what happened, to Jamie coming back in his dreams is fine -, leave it like that please, As we have the books in series at least one chapter of the whole book in every book is repeated from book one.

Otherwise I do like the books especially to get three books at the time, so you can keep listening. Doing the right thing!!

So unnecessarily repetitive

So boringly repetitive every time a character was mentioned you got the same history over and over as if you couldn’t remember from 5 minutes ago Narration was very good and the only reason I listened all through.. but I won’t be listening to any more
