About this listen
Have you ever noticed that part of being a woman means being there for other people? Think of it. Whether you’re a mom taking care of her kids, a wife caring for her husband, or a boss managing her employees, most women are naturally empathetic. We want to help people with their problems. But, we’re not very good at taking care of ourselves. So we feel selfish, vain, or have mommy guilt! We punish ourselves for needing self-care.This is most evident when it comes to our appearance and weight. When we try to take care of our bodies, we’re attacked by negative inner voice: “Are you trying this diet again? You failed last time, you idiot! You’re gonna eat that cookie, you know it! You can’t even take care of yourself! What a waste!” Negative inner voices are extremely harmful and are often very harsh. They are the reason you can’t lose weight. They try to control your actions. They pressure you into acting against your own will. And, let’s be honest...they usually win. You overeat. Or eat junk. Or slip on a diet. And the negative voice gets bolder and says, “I told you so!”
If you’re serious about wanting to lose weight, you need to take back your power. If you want to succeed at changing your body, you need to begin to speak well of yourself. Speak well to yourself. Trust yourself. And respect yourself enough to move toward your weight-loss goal. You’ve got to be all in. Those negative voices don’t take a break from discouraging you and bullying you.
Aren’t you tired of feeling stuck? It’s time to take control! Start today!
