Summary

An irresistible festive treat from million-copy bestseller Amanda Prowse.

While her free-spirited daughter travels the world, Vivienne prepares for a lonely Christmas in Bristol, with her best friend Ellen and her ancient dog Bob. Then a letter arrives that changes everything. Vivienne's daughter is getting married in New Zealand, and she wants her mum and Ellen by her side. Out on the rugged coast of Tutukaka, the sea sparkles, romance beckons – and Vivienne falls under the spell of another life. Will she leave everything she holds dear for a chance at happiness? Or will her daughter be the only one to fall in love this Christmas?

Amanda Prowse likens her own life story to those she writes about in her books. After self-publishing her debut novel Poppy Day in 2011, she has gone on to author twenty-five novels, including the number 1 bestsellers, Perfect Daughter and What Have I Done, six novellas and a memoir. Her books have been translated into a dozen languages and she regularly tops book charts all over the world. Remaining true to her ethos, Amanda writes stories of ordinary women and their families who find their strength, courage and love tested in ways they never imagined. The most prolific female contemporary fiction writer in the UK, with a legion of loyal readers, she goes from strength to strength.

A postscript from me.

Having already written my review and just read one of the previous comments by another listener/reader I must say I could not disagree with her more strongly, when she writes, ‘ I Won’t Be Home For Christmas’ is more suited possibly to younger readers. I am sixty seven and totally disagree. Never to old to dream!

Nice light book

I enjoyed the book and humour, but, perhaps for people younger than myself . I wish people could leave their age when leaving feedback? I am 69.
