About this listen
The tenth book in the bestselling Chronicles of St Mary's series which follows a group of tea-soaked disaster magnets as they hurtle their way around History.
You can't change History. History doesn't like it. There are always consequences.
Max is no stranger to taking matters into her own hands. Especially when she's had A Brilliant Idea. Yes, it will mean breaking a few rules, but - as Max always says - they're not her rules.
Seconded to the Time Police to join in the hunt for the renegade Clive Ronan, Max is a long way from St Mary's. But life in the future does have its plus points - although not for long.
A problem with the Time Map reveals chaos in the 16th century and the wrong Tudor queen on the throne. History has gone rogue, there's a St Mary's team right in the firing line and Max must step up.
You know what they say. Hope for the best. But plan for the worst.

Oh My God 😮
Another fantastic story. I wanted it to go on forever.
I'll have to start from the very beginning again! 😁

It only gets better
I am devastated in two months I have listened to all the books and short stories. This has left me wanting more. Not wanting to give away the plot. I highly recommend this series of books. They are not only well written with plenty of humour and pathos, but read with equal enjoyment by the narrator. She made me feel she was Max and I was interacting with her personally. A must read

Tears before bedtime
I love st Mary's books. I got this latest instalment on day one of release. Listened to the previous book then with huge anticipation started hope for the best. I have to admit I wanted Clive Ronan caught how many books can we go on with the same problem . No spoilers here though. As always the familiar characters and smart storylines we're there, but I really missed the whole st Mary's cast. Lovely to progress with Mathew and max though. The last chapters were for me totally unanticipated. Shock horror tears, oh yes all of them. In fact I was in such a state my dog (cockapoo) bought me socks in her mouth. It's her equivalent to a cuppa and a cuddle. . Can't comment on how plot was at the end (spoilers) but I have a long wait ahead of me till the next one. Need more socks brought for me at the thought. Thanks jodi. Please write fast x

Great as usual
Big fan of this series and Zara Ramm's performance. As usual in Jodi Taylor's stories there is just so much both with Max's story and the historical content. I find myself googling historical facts as I am listening.
Watched the latest "Robert the Bruce" film after listening to this audio book and I think it may be one of Calvin Cutter's. Honestly did Robert the Bruce after an age of watching a spider really tell young Scot to "Go and peel some potatoes for your mother."

Zara Ramm is Max!
Great stories and well read. I have been known to chuckle out loud when listening and also answering back. The style is charming and very amusing.
A thoroughly good listen

The best yet!
This series just gets better and better. Zara Ramm’s narration is wonderful - she is Max and her comic timing is superb. Can highly recommend to fans of Jasper Fforde, Terry Pratchett and Ben Aaronovitch. This is intelligent fiction that combines history, action and humour in a way that is highly entertaining.

book 10
Once again Jodi's produced a great story and left it that another book is in the offing. good storyline with the reintroduction of the errant teenager in a very active role not merely passing through.
