Summary

Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor.

More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost.

But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore. Some of them oppose Bob’s plan; others have plans of their own. The out-of-control moots are the least of the Bobiverse’s problems.

Undaunted, Bob and his allies follow Bender’s trail. But what they discover out in deep space is so unexpected and so complex that it could either save the universe - or pose an existential threat the likes of which the Bobiverse has ever faced.

Heaven’s River is the fourth installment in the blockbuster Audible Original Bobiverse series - which has sold more than one million copies.

Wonderful!

I do love all the books written by Dennis E Taylor and Ray Porter is a joy to listen to. However, I though the Bob books might become repetitive, but this book felt like there was a real mission, a novel and interesting tale, with several twists and turns along the way.

Another great trip into the Bobiverse...

The next evolution of the Bob's was well handled, and looking forward to the next. Narration was excellent as usual.

Brilliant

I don't understand the criticism of some reviewers complaining about the book being set mostly in one location. It was a fantastic deep dive into the characters, philosophy, politics and science of the bobiverse.

I thought the book was one of the best of the series and I'd love to see more like it, focusing on the travels of some of the far flung Bob's perhaps.

Laugh and even cry

A good novel should be able to grab all of your emotions, this the forth in the series does just that
Loved the journey I have been taken on

Fourth in the Trilogy, and just as good.

Don't believe the negative reviews. If you loved the first three volumes then this one will not disappoint. This deals with a single issue: finding out what happened to Bender - one of Bob's earliest clones, and if still 'alive', attempting a rescue. The inventiveness and imagination are still in full flow, and the irreverent humour doesn't diminish. What I really love about these books is that, right in the middle of a cracking story, real philosophical questions are posed to the reader. They can be completely ignored, or pondered quite deeply. Neither option detracts from the enjoyment of the book.
The narrator is absolutely right, he completely understands the pace of the dialogue, and never waivers from the characterisation. Each participant has their own voice, which is held to consistently. All in all another winner

Continues the Bobiverse books perfectly!

Loved this book just as much as the first three. More of the usual technology & science, but also delves a lot more into human (& alien!) nature, psychology and evolution of the species.

Can't wait for Book 5 and I have some thoughts on where it might end up heading, which is exciting! Best get cracking Dennis - don't want this to turn into George RR Martin timescales (unless Bobiverse is picked up as a movie/TV series, which would be epic)!!

Narration by Ray Porter is excellent as usual, he's definitely one of the best voice artists out there and I highly recommend his other works too, a reasonable amount I've also listened to and loved.

I see what you did there

I just b4 this books release have reread all the others and can say that this book is very good with the others works well for a focused story but also opens the flood gates at the same time as there is things here that can be made into books by themselves I'm sure, thanks so much I look forward to what's going to happen next
