Summary
Freud's Fallacy by Dr. Clifford Brickman with Rabbi Jay Brickman
An analytic dialogue. (A dialogue. An analysis. Both.)
This may be the first Freudian analysis by both a therapist and a Rabbi, in concert, who together have more than a hundred years of therapy and counseling experience. This analysis is of, instead of by, Sigmund Freud, with an emphasis on his theoretical constructs.
The book analyzes Freud's concepts as they apply to "Little Hans" - Freud's first, and some say his best, clinical example. We think of little Hans as Baby Hans and we carefully go over the major concepts to determine "Proven, Disproven, or Erroneous".
You will listen to an in-depth Socratic-type communication. Such "dialogue" is too-rarely employed in these days. Monologues are the great fashion - but dialogues? Really?
Rabbi Jay Brickman has nearly 70 years experience with Biblical analysis reading groups, having one of the first and oldest in the United States. He has an extensive background in Freudian and Jungian studies, dream analysis, and therapeutics. Rabbi Jay founded two congregations, one in Staten Island and one in Milwaukee.
Dr. Clifford Brickman is the author of a best-selling book, performing clinical research for 25 years with The Still Soft Voice. He is a doctor of naprapathic medicine and an individual, family, and hypno-analytic practitioner. He founded counseling centers, clinics and won multiple federal and state contracts.
The aim, as Dr Cliff says, is to help individuals get an overall culture surrounding them, get not into but rather out of hypnotic trance. Listening to this book will help.
Developing an individual (individuated and integrated) thought process.
Fostering a better or best, more careful, understanding.
Helping people become trance-free and clear.
