Summary
I have bipolar disorder, two teenage daughters, and a long-term relationship with the arts that is borderline abusive on both sides.
Over the course of human history, there have been countless tomes composed on the subject of mental health and an equally daunting number on the joys and perils of raising children.
If you factor in the mysterious nature of twins and the long-term ramifications of being raised in a cult, however, then it’s basically this one and Harry Potter.
If it helps, our story is shorter and contains fewer owls.
Bisection is the story of one man, two children, and bipolar disorder.
Equal parts comedy, tragedy, absurdity, and philosophy, it is a unique look at mental health, parenting, and everything in between.

Never has mental illness been so funny!
Now I know, we're not supposed to laugh at people with mental illness, but Kenton Hall has only himself to blame for turning the pain in his life into witty and consistently hilarious jokes and stories that, at least to someone like myself who also suffers with mental issues, is at times both painfully relatable and wholly relieving. Having personally never wanted kids due to the fear of passing on my problems and then having to try and turn the "thing" into a nice person with good morals seemed like an impossible task to me. After listening to the story of someone who has faced much harder times with twice the children to worry about that have turned out as wonderfully well rounded and as such good people as they have. I now believe that when a one night stand finds me on Facebook to tell me im the lucky guy to have lost the latex lottery, running away to start a new life in Zimbabwe doesn't have to be my only choice. (Admittedly it does still seem like a very attractive choice)
From the mouth the words came from you can feel the emotions that were and the scars that still remain with Kenton, making both the good times and the bad a world more impactful. If you have an interest in what it's like living with mental health issues and the challenges of raising twins while your brain tries to derail itself, this book is a must listen (or read if you're that way inclined) and i assure you that if you do you will want to read it all again.
Kenton Hall is a stellar example of that even after being dealt a shitty hand and arguably a worse brain, things can work out and that even if it is a dark path you find yourself walking you can always aim to find the light in those troubled times.

A work of brilliance, heartfelt and funny all in 1
Now I wish my sister had not stolen my paperback copy because there were definitely a lot of passages that I would have highlighted! Kenton is one of the wisest, talented, brilliant humans, this book did not disappoint. It's so well written. His wit and humour are razor sharp, but there's also a real softness laid bare when you could just hug him! Well done for such an honest account of living with Bipolar and also parenting (TWINS too!)and living after a well. truly crappy childhood. A brilliant book with great insight into living with an illness that not many people really understand. I could go on and on but I shan't, read or listen to this book it's the work of a genius! Huge love and respect to you Kenton!
