the way the story evolves
Not sure if I was going to enjoy this story. However, once I started to listen I simply couldn't stop. Very well written with characters that jumped out of the pages and came to life.

The way it was written and the way it was narrated reminded me somehow of Jules Verne . I enjoyed the book immensely.
I disliked the ending of the story and found it untidy and unfinished, but I look forward to a follow up.

the narration
i really enjoyed the whole thing. the charactors were very well written. No stupid love scenes, as the author allowed the reader to fill them in. I am eagerly looking forward to the next box set.

Not bad on a surface level, but!
The basis of a good series, but there is a very unpleasant set of ideologies and assumptions that both underpin and are actively promoted. A shame, once I started noticing the story soon pushed me away with a very bad taste left with me.
