About this listen
In 1967, Benson Baker, at the age of 19, willfully enlisted into the US Army. He volunteered for active duty and is sent to Vietnam. Forty-five days into his tour things change for the worst. He turns on some of his superiors and his covert actions land him in the notorious Long Bien Jail. Outnumbered 10 to one, he must survive against daily threats, physical altercation, and a full-blown prison uprising.
Benson Baker is ousted from the Army under grave conditions. Six months later, he awakens in the desert of Northern Arizona. An Apache named Sau befriends Baker and takes him under his wing. B. Baker holds nothing back in confessing to his ill behavior in war, and Sau is gracious and accepting. Never once does he question nor judge his friends testimonies and convictions. And just as all else appears copacetic, an aftermath of LBJ will threaten their very existence.
