About this listen
'Britain's top dog whisperer... a canine-human Esther Perel' The Observer
Bringing a new puppy home is a joyous experience, but it can also be quite daunting. Should you really let a puppy 'cry it out' alone on the first night? How do you introduce it to other family members and pets? When should you start training? What equipment do you really need for that first week? And will you ever be able to work from home again uninterrupted?!
Louise Glazebrook, dog behaviourist and author of bestseller The Book Your Dog Wishes You Would Read, is asked all these questions and more every day. In this new, informative and compassionate guide for dog owners, Louise shows how working with your puppy at their pace, understanding their needs, will build a beautiful bond for life.
Everything Your Puppy Wants You To Know shares all of Louise's advice on how to settle a puppy in at home, work through developmental stages and make training fun - all to raise a confident, happy dog.
Your puppy will be glad you listened to this book.

Disappointed
There are some good pointers but there are some topics that are contradicted which is confusing. I raised two dogs to 18 years old. I considered myself a competent and thoughtfull owner. I’m now ready for new puppy and having listened to this book, it makes me feel like I’m a useless owner and will need to be a professional trainer before getting another puppy.

Condescending, contradicting and not inspiring.
This is a highly disappointing listen, and I couldn't finish it, couldn't even make it a ¼ of the way through. Louise, who wrote this, makes the listener feel like they are doing everything wrong, shouldn't be getting a puppy, and the advice is not inspirational or made to sound achievable. Compare this with other dog behaviourists, such as Will Atherton, and it will be clear Louise doesn't clearly share logical and achievable advice. Puppy proofing for example left me feeling like everything is going to be destroyed, yet, now I have a puppy for 2 weeks, and I've followed the advice from other dog behaviourists, nothing is destroyed and puppy proofing was a 5 minute affair, not a mission out to buy new rugs and hide away stuff that you own as Louise advised to do. That is just one specific example but I could go on, but I won't. Do yourself a favour and search Will Atherton, he knows his stuff. Avoid this book, it will leave you deflated and feeling talked down to.
