Summary

The Manhattan waterfront is one of New York City's most beautiful vistas, boasting both the Statue of Liberty and the George Washington Bridge, the world's busiest traffic bridge. Assistant DA Alexandra Cooper and Detective Mike Chapman, in the midst of their own growing relationship, take on a case that forces them apart as a killer's twisted plan draws ever closer to home.

Ridiculous, but entertaining

Unbelievable that an ada would be so involved in the sharp end of all these criminal escapades. Somehow, she always manages to end up almost being killed. The facts about New York are interesting but it rather stikts the narrative. I can't believe a feisty lawyer would put up with the sarcasm and cheap misogynistic digs from her so called lover , the police detective. Finally, what happened to her father?

Very Poor- So poor I checked if I'd missed some

What would have made Devil's Bridge better?

EFFORT from the author. Lazy and plotless.... so obvioius.
The worst part is that there are 2 plot lines she doesn't even bother to address at the end - so if you read about the IT theft and the death of the Reverend's money collector don't expect to find out any more about them: one of these gets a bare mention but no actual resolution.
She doesn't even bother to make a cliff hanger of the unresolved parts...

What could Linda Fairstein have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Return to the form she used to have in earlier books: this means she needs editors who tell her the truth (or else she cynically does not care...)

What about Barbara Rosenblat’s performance did you like?

Excellent as ever - the only saving grace of this rubbish plot...

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Devil's Bridge?

It is not about cutting it is about bothering to add needed scenes into the book....

Any additional comments?

What a waste of a listen! This is one to return!
